Lake Manawa Beach & Picnic — Attraction in Council Bluffs

Went to the beach and everything was good everything was fine but if you close at 7 it shouldn't take people out of the pool at 6:45 if you close at 7. Are closing time should say 6:45 then because people pay for the hours that they're there and it's false advertisement. I was really upset when I went there we came there around 4:30 and I asked you close at 7 right and the woman says yes but failed to tell me they close at 6:45 so on my way out I asked, well more or less said so you actually close at 6:45 not 7 is that right, she said well we close at 7 but we shut the Beach town at 6:45 so they can clean up. I'm sorry but at my job I don't get it clean until after we close and that means at our closing time. Just a thought maybe change your hours on your board because I'm pretty sure I'm not the first or the last that's going to have an issue with this other than that it's a great lake I've grown up on that Lake and I'll...

Pros: Beach is kept pretty well maintained and clean, staff are always friendly, cheap to get in, able to rent kayaks & paddle boards, can rent or buy inflatables, they have food, and other commodities.

Cons: Biting flies and wasps are really bad out there and unrelenting, sometimes there are dead fish that float into the swimming area, there are turtles that will come into the area and nibble on your toes sometimes, and there is supposed to be no smoking on the beach or near the water but people do anyways and nothing is done about it. Came here for the first time last weekend. Seems to be a great place for family fun, whether you’re swimming, grilling out, hiking, or just want to sit with a view of the lake. Was hoping to see some wildlife, but I guess it just wasn’t the day for it. The ladies in the clubhouse seemed very friendly. They have an area roped off and the swimming area doesn’t go very deep, and even when there’s no life guard on duty, there seemed to be people watching to make sure no one went out past the ropes, can’t wait for this to be my haven when they open up again...
