Disappointed and saddened. Used to go to this park when i was wanting to get out and needed to get my kids physically moving. I have fond memories @ Dreamland park. My 1st high school dance ended with 4 of us playing a form of tag. (No 1 was to step off of the equipment onto the gravel surface) The biggest feature or positive that I personally enjoyed was the multi aged intractability. The younger generation could use the equipment along side some of the older ones. While, the younger generation could weave through smaller spaces, the older ones couldn't, they both would venture through a labyrinth of twist and turns. Allowing an adventure of mystery and imagination to all whom enter the castle across the bridge. The re-imagined playground was to improve on what was an amazing place to make and enjoy new or old happy memories with friends &\or family. The park is like so many others, generic and without character, Boring. An assembly of prefabricated parts laid out to fill an otherwise voided space. Separating our youth into various areas defined by age and pre-determining their abilities of physical and mentally within it. Who says, "what is normal?" Who says, "what others maybe capable of?" My review for The city's newly created Dreamland Park is that it's nothing but another largely covered area of, one after another accumulation of disappointments, destroying the once provoking; mystery and imagination of our children's mind's throughout- to just an accumulation of brightly colored swings and slides. Various Straight forward activities with no alternative purposes or thought involved. At least before- it would help develop a childs thought process and ability to make decisions. I used to run here 1st when wanting to relax or enjoy time with others. Now iI will just attend the closest available park @ the time. No longer worth the time, the effort, depreciation of vehicle, used resources (gasoline) or sacrifice of myself or others lives. I try to never use the word Hate unless it is truly meant . And, I truly HATE...
Read moreNOT SAFE! Used to be my favorite place to take my kids to play, until yesterday, when while a lot of parents, including me, were there with their kids, a bunch of teenagers arrived with their cars (look like a gathering, had more then 10 of them) and they, started to run around like crazy playing tag!!! Did not took long until they drop a little kid and almost step on her. The worst part? Instead of AT LEAST saying sorry to the mom, the guy started to be mouthy with the mom and was ready for a fight!!!! Disrespectful!!! Where are the security responsible for this park???? When did became legal for teenagers (old enough to drive) be running around at a place full of little ones? A place, like we showed them the signs, that says...
