Parking lot is pathetically small. I arrived around 1 pm for the 1st time & and luckily there were empty spots, but literally none open when I left at 3. I had to pull over to the gravel utility road to load my bike into my back seat since someone was parked beside me. There's plenty of room for expansion if you look on Google maps. The trail surface itself is really nice; hard packed white gravel. Watch for people fishing in case they don't look and cast their line. You ride 1.5 miles along the canal behind people's back yards, then past industries & a junk yard. It's not too bad looking while the trees are full. It's nice because it's closer to home and may be safer than the Wilbeth trailhead, but I enjoy Vanderhoof Trailhead heading south...
Read moreThis great little bike ride is one of the little known and little used parts of the Ohio and Erie Tow Path Trail. This portion starts at the Manchester Rd. Trailhead and is located just south of I76 (hywy 224) near Lake Nesmith off of Manchester Rd. It stretches from Manchester Rd. to the Wolf Creek Trailhead near Snyder Rd. in Barberton. The canal is a great home to waterfowl and turtles. Blue herons and ducks of all kinds are quite common along this stretch of the Tow Path.
