I wanted to bring my wife here because she absolutely loves Christmas and all the holiday lights. Christmas has a special meaning to her, especially while she was growing up.
Anyhow, I planned on arriving on the 22nd and the rain started. Ok, so I ended up actually getting here on the 24th, only to find out that they were closed...So I thought. So we get here again today, the 29th and it seemed as if they were closed. I actually found out that they were in fact open. The front gate is closed with a orange cone in front of it making it look as if they are closed. There is another entrance on the side, with no signs however. Makes me think that they were actually opened the other night when I first got here.
I can't even explain how very disappointed I am of this ridiculous place. This is nothing compared to what was advertised at all. When we arrived, there were no employees outside whatsoever, only a young thug looking kid scanning your tickets from a little shack located about a quarter mile in. Again, there are no signs. This seems like a deserted area.
I proceeded to drive up the dark dirt road and noticed lots of Halloween scenery. I continued driving on the dirt road and I have to say, this was a waste of time and money for what they call a Holiday Light Show.
Almost all the lights were not working, some of the display lights were knocked down, and some of the lighted displays had nothing to do with the holidays. Palm trees, dinosaurs, and dragons are not Christmas related themes. There was more darkness than it was lights.
There was no music at all. Instructions were to tune your FM radio to a certain station only to hear static.
During the trip here, we have seen much better Christmas lights on houses. This was a complete waste of our time and money.
The Pawtucket Winter Wonderland is much, much better all around and it's free.
I would never come back to this horrible place again. I am completely...
Read moreThis was a huge disappointment compared to last year when it was in Richmond. We really enjoyed it then and were excited to see it again this year. Upon arrival, there was no signage indicating the light show was there. We were starting to wonder until we noticed a man sitting in a car way off to the left of the parking lot, waving a wand, and assumed that's where we were supposed to go. You have to drive way back through the farm to get there. There was no hot chocolate or Santa hats to purchase this year as there was last year. We tuned the radio to the station they told us, expecting to hear fun, upbeat Christmas music. Instead it was playing some slow, sad Christmas song we'd never even heard before, and all the following songs were obscure and pretty bad, not what you would expect for a fun, family event. And none of the lights were synchronized to the music, like last year. The displays were smaller and spaced out a lot, and some of them weren't even lit up. As we neared the end, where probably the most impressive display was set up, all the lights suddenly went out like they had short-circuited and it was just darkness. My kids were so disappointed. The worst part of all is that when you leave, you come out on this dark, residential back road in the middle of nowhere, far from where you entered, and there is absolutely no direction telling you where to go. My husband and I were like, "is this a joke?" I don't know why it was so different this year, but we were highly disappointed and will not be going...
Read moreWe were quite disappointed here. We’ve done this drive through experience at other locations by other businesses in previous years and states that we’ve lived in and this by far was a let down all around. It took us 8 minutes to drive through. We weren’t going fast at all, it’s just that there wasn’t really a ton to look at aside from the curb lined with different lights. All the lights seemed to be the same brand of that makes sense, like they all were roughly the same size and structure, just different images. So it wasn’t like you would turn a corner to some amazing display of something new. They also didn’t have their merchandise or hot cocoa / snacks set up yet, which was what I was really looking forward to, so that was a major let down. We drove 45 minutes to get there because we highly anticipated a cool thing, but it was just really bumming. We also paid extra for the flex ticket and I assumed this was a must because other venues I’ve been to for this sort of experience were PACKED so you had to go at your assigned day and time. But this place was not hopping at all. In fact, it was difficult to even assume they were open because the entrance is like behind the main building and there were no signs or lights on to show any attendance. We ended up driving up to the entrance shack which was also dark and we only realized it was truly open when the shack window opened. All around waste of time and money. I’d prefer to drive through a well decorated neighborhood...
