Prairie Bluff Preserve — Attraction in Crest Hill

Had been a nice place to walk; walking/biking trail wound its way through a young, developing prairie and among corn and bean fields. This past spring, they did a proscribed burn on the prairie portion, then had it completely planted in corn. Now there's nothing to see except corn and beans. I hope they change their minds next spring and begin returning...

If you want your kids to see someone having sex in broad day light in their car this is the place to go. NOT COOL!!! Loud from constant planes going by and too windy to eat a picnic without it blowing off the tables! Nice view of statesville prison too. Didn't feel safe and very grossed out by my experience with my kids. Not sure if I will be going...

We went to Prairie Bluff as part of the Be A Trailblazer program (would not have known about Prairie Bluff otherwise). It is definitely a prairie!
