Overall this is a nice place. Huge, well kept, and the mazes are quite elaborate. Totally unlike mazes I've been to before though, were you get to a fork in the road, answer a question, and depending on your answer you go either left or right. At this one, keep hold of the map, hope you can read it and figure out where you are, and march on! Lets just say I'm not known for my orienteering skills on a map that looked like alot of ends everywhere, so it was good that my companions were more adept at this. You are given a task to find specific check points, punch out the items found there on the card you are given, and when that is done, turn it all in for a chance to win something (no idea what, but it made it interesting to have a task to perform) .I recommend doing checkpoints 7-12. It was cool (know that its about 3 miles to do it), and we were at this place for about 2 hours. I saw folks riding on a trolley/wagon or something in that order when we climbed up to a lookout , but never knew where to get it to ride it later. There's no signage or map to tell you where that it, or where the corn cannon might be, and since the little buildings are rather spread out a bit, we were too tired to look for those after wandering around in the maze and getting all hot there. So I didn't get to take the ride I actually wanted to do afterwards. That lack of knowing where to go is a down side, as I used to take girl scouts to other mazes that had alot more things for all to do - especially the kids- so be aware, There is a nice jumping pad here though. Good for pictures and videos of little ones. There also is a half mile maze you can do - I'm thinking that one was for little ones as well, but I didn't verify that part. Last - there are cold bottles of Peach Cider in the General Store in bottles that are quite good. Worth it for a nice cold drink without a long line (although the Strawberry Lemonade gotten from the long line was great, thought pricey) and you can take it home easily for...
Read moreI will cut to the chase. This place is littered with liabilities and was not all that enjoyable to me and my friends.
Let’s start with the bonfires. They are made in circles if I guess… sheet metal? Not used to seeing that. Here’s the biggest thing: we literally watched their worker throw trash and debris into all of these fires (there were 6 bins). Including a huge cardboard box at one point (see pictures.) Cardboard is unsafe to burn and it can release hazardous chemicals into the air. I’m sure this is probably a violation of county ordinances/code.
On top of it being unsafe, setting trash on fire led to LOTSSS and lots of little particles floating through the air everywhere. We were all being snowed on. I ended up getting a bunch of ash on my forehead, when we were standing like 15 feet away from it!
We had to wait in line for what felt like years before getting marshmallows all because the worker told us that we couldn’t roast marshmallows until all the fires were lit. Mind you, people were standing at them already. We just couldn’t get the marshmallows (that are included in your ticket.) it was taking so long that we took the disappointing hayride. While we were gone I guess they randomly changed policy and started giving the marshmallows out. Interesting.
The little shop here is disappointing. No cute t shirts at all. The animals in the “petting zoo” look to be poorly taken care of. See pictures. The maze was idk, just a corn maze. And the food from the food truck was absolutely horrible. We ordered roasted corn, chili cheese fries, and funnel cake. The corn was tiny and not that great, the funnel cake was soft, and the chili was basically salsa and cheese was the fake liquid stuff.
As a small business owner myself, just take it from me when I say literally everything here could be drastically improved. I would...
Read moreNot toddler friendly, at all... We decided it would be fun to take our 18 month old who is really stable on his feet. Well, the jumping pad had bigger kids (probably around 10 or so) who did not care about the little ones (around 5 and younger), and the parents did not care either, so our toddler could not enjoy that. We went to the tire climb and the slide. SAME THING. The older kids were actually pushing the smaller ones out of their way. Both places had NO employee monitoring them either. Actually, we did not see any employees unless they were working the concession stands or the one driving the tractor. Which brings me to the next thing. The wagon ride was a waste. The tractor driver was rude and just not friendly at all, and the whole ride maybe last 7 minutes at best. The lines for the concessions were insanely long and slow. Oh and the goats just laid there. I get they are goats, I have had several myself, but these just seemed like they did not even want to be there anymore. We went on a Sunday and it was still crazy busy, but there was no additional line to buy pumpkins either. Admission and buying pumpkins appeared to be the same line, which was extremely long. And most of the medium sized pumpkins and larger ones were rotted, some even had holes where they had rotted. The pumpkins were also way over priced for the size too. We went at the old location which seemed much better and much more put together. We will never go back and would rather just...
