Before I knew it, I found myself living at The Forum for more than 6 1/2 years. I have had a good time living here. From the CEO, the residents, the staff and the workers we find nothing but helpfulness and friendliness. It is quite a happy place. I especially like the quiet and peaceful environment. Actually I decided to come here because of its environment and the friendliness of the residents that I first encountered when I visited. Also, The Forum offers services until we pass away. Then I found out that we can have a say in its governing. We have all kinds of committees where we can voice our opinions. We have a wide variety of programs here such as concerts in house and going off campus visits to museums, theaters (in fact, we have a readers theater in house which we can participate in the performance). We also have tours off campus too. And since we are next to Rancho San Antonio county park, we can go hiking whenever we like. Then we have sewing groups, knitting groups, quilting groups, bridge groups, Majong groups and so forth. We also have a fitness room with all of the essential equipment. There is also a swimming pool and jacuzzi. Yes we do have daily exercise classes, yoga classes, meditation groups, Thai Chi, and so forth. Of course I must not forget to talk about the food. We are well known for our good food. We have the Ridge, which is a more formal setting, the Bistro which is casual and is open for most of the day, then The Terrace out on the patio. We have the Lounge, which has a full bar. We also have opportunities to volunteer in the Health Care Center to visit, distribute mail, and so forth. Then we can volunteer at the Country Store. If you want, there is always a listening ear when you go to the lounge or one of the sitting areas around campus. Oh, before I leave I must not forget about the pandemic we are in. As soon as the news of the invasion of Covid, we were told to stay in our respective homes. Three times a day, meals were delivered to our door by the cheerful food and beverage staff. Groceries were delivered to us at our request. Special meals were delivered on feast days with fanfare. Once a week special snacks were delivered. We were kept on top of the guidelines by the authorities of the pandemic. A special station with security guards was set up at the entrance of the campus. Everyone that comes in will be checked before entering. Such is the way we are taken care of during the pandemic. And that is how throughout we are kept free from COVID. That is The Forum I am experiencing, hope you will enjoy it...
Read moreMy wife and I have been residents of Massachusetts for our entire married and professional career. In 2013, we decided to look for a Life Care Community in the Bay Area since our youngest daughter and family live in Palo Alto. We visited various Life Care Communities near Palo Alto and decided that The Forum was to be our new home. We loved the beauty of its location and we were delighted with the friendly and welcoming attitude of the residents and staff. We have been very happy with our Forum life for the past 8 years. We are pleased that The Forum is a resident owned cooperative community so that residents have full control of their lifestyle and destiny. From a business point of view, we know that The Forum offered the best value of the Life Care Communities that we visited in this area. As a retired physician, I am thrilled that no resident in Independent Living, Memory Care or Assisted Living has been sick with Covid-19 and that over 99% of residents and 95% of Staff have had full vaccination, far better than national averages. In summary, moving to The Forum was one of the best decisions that my wife and I have ever made. Sincerely, The Fischbeins
May 5, 2024 My wife ,Elizabeth, a resident in Forum Skilled Nursing recently passed away. She not only received excellent medical care from the Skilled Nursing Staff, she also received love and devotion throughout her stay. Elizabeth passed in comfort and dignity with me at her side. I am grateful for our 71 years of marriage. I am grateful for our happy years together in Independent Living. I am grateful that we have the 5 Star Forum Health Center available for illness and to care for us in our declining years. I repeat, moving to the Forum was one of the best decisions that Elizabeth and I ever made. My daughter Margery Fischbein has recently moved to the Forum and is delighted with her apartment and her decision to become a Forum...
Read moreMy husband and I moved to The Forum 21 years ago. Our Board of Directors is composed of Forum members. He was approached to become a member of the Board. He was elected President of the Board and participated in the new Assisted Care Building being designed and built several years ago. He worked with outside Architects and with the City of Cupertino Building Inspectors. The Forum ended up with a beautiful new addition to our community.
Nancy K., our Executive Administrator managed to get COVID vaccine for all our 400+ residents, our employees, as well as our contractors. Not a single resident was infected with COVID due to her diligence in getting the injections early on.
We are now in the process of remodeling our dining room and patio. We will have a new beautiful auditorium, a new sports bar/lounge as well as a small movie theater, plus a new marketing office. We all have free parking in the covered garages in the building we live in.
During COVID we have had food delivered three times a day. Also, a Grab and Go Bar was opened and we could pick up sandwiches, salads, desserts as well as drinks of our choice.
Our landscaping here at The Forum is beautiful. Many of us walk in Rancho San Antonio Park each day. We don't have to drive to the park and there are several entrances we can use. Maria, our Housekeeping Manager has our apartments cleaned weekly. The girls change sheets on the bed, clean our kitchens and bathrooms as well as vacuum all our carpets. The Forum offers every amenity one could ever want and is a wonderful place to live. We have never regretted our decision to move here and it only gets better...
