A Hidden Gem in Miami: Black Point Marina
Miami is a city of endless discoveries, and my latest find, Black Point Marina in Cutler Bay, has quickly climbed to the top of my favorites list. This marina isn't just a place to dock your boat; it's a destination for anyone looking to experience the best of waterfront living.
What sets Black Point Marina apart are its amazing views. The marina provides a panoramic vista that captures the essence of South Florida's beauty. Whether you're an early riser catching the sunrise or here to enjoy the calming sunset, the scenery alone is worth the visit.
The moment you set foot in Black Point Marina, it feels like you've been transported to an island in the Caribbean. The lush surroundings, the gentle breeze, and the sound of water create an immediate sense of escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's this island vibe that makes every visit here a mini vacation.
The food here is a revelation, especially for seafood lovers. The freshness of their offerings is unparalleled, and they offer a unique experience where they'll cook the fish you've just caught. This touch not only brings your fishing journey full circle but also ensures a meal that's as fresh as it gets.
The bar at Black Point Marina is both cozy and fun, striking the perfect balance for those looking to relax with a drink in hand or engage in lively conversations with locals and visitors alike. It's this warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home, even if you're miles away from it.
As for the food, it's simply delicious. Every dish I tried was a hit, but it's the quality and the care put into their preparation that truly stand out. It’s evident that Black Point Marina prides itself not just on the freshness of their ingredients but also on their culinary skill to make each meal memorable.
In conclusion, Black Point Marina is more than just a marina; it's a retreat that offers stunning views, exceptional fresh food, and a cozy yet fun bar atmosphere. Whether you're a boating enthusiast or simply in search of a new spot to unwind and dine, Black Point Marina in Cutler Bay, FL, promises an experience that feels like a Caribbean getaway, making it an unforgettable...
Read moreI came here with my dad to try to do some fishing off the shore because we dont own a boat. There are only 2-3 wooden piers in the park area where visitors can fish from the shore from a pier and those spots are usually taken really quickly so you have to get there really early in the morning because their in the beginning of the park trail. The fish under the wooden piers in the beginning of the trail are really small fish (throw back fish too small to eat) and since boats frequently pass by at high speeds from the nearby marina to go out into the ocean it spooks the fish in the water and you can see chemicals in the water from the boats so I dont really think you would want to eat the fish you catch near the shore from one of those wooden piers because it probably isnt healthy eating fish with boat chemicals in the water.
Once you go deeper into the trail there are more fishing spots but without wooden piers so you will have to fish from the rocks on the shore, the spots where you fish from the rocks on the shore have lots of seaweed that tangles your fishing line and you still have the problem of boats passing by to exit the marina which spooks the fish. Once you get to the end of the trail there is a dead end that leads to the ocean with lots of people fishing from the shore in the end and a small island that you can walk across on foot that usually has people trying to take a bath in the water while people are fishing nearby.
If your coming here thinking about fishing from the shore I would avoid this place, there are too many people with very limited fishing spots and boats passing by that leave boat chemicals in the water. What I would recommend if you want to do some fishing in this place is that you bring either a canoe or a kayak and try to fish away from the shore and boats, the left side of the trail is more calm and the boats leaving the marina dont go in that part of the park. The only downside is carrying a canoe or kayak up the trail until you can pitch it into the water from the left side...

No more bands, ever, that I know of. One of the largest draws for me was the acoustic set on the weekends in the afternoon.
The food has taken a tremendous turn down from where it used to be.
The service is almost always excellent.
Parking is generally far, but that's okay I like to walk.
.........
Old review... Parking can get bad over the weekend.
Great food. Kind of expensive. Live bands. Smash the Like button if you are reading! :)
A couple of things going on here. Marina, boat ramps, and eatery.
Parking is great if you like to walk -- but be prepared to walk! You'll need to.
If it is raining, you'll get wet on the way in. There is no close by parking. Okay, there is a little close by parking, but only like a dozen or so spaces. You'll be parking far away.
Eatery: Eatery is okay. Kind of expensive. Lots of fried food. Band plays often.
Marina: Marina is fuel and ramps, not sure if it is full service with a mechanic. Dry dock and wet docks available. Everything is expensive of course.
Boat ramps: Boat ramps are fun to watch! Boat ramps are actually quite good, if you can get access. Normally this place is packed to the gills though, so it is not a fun place to be when the novices get...
