I have been to this establishment 3 times now. The other two visits here were perfect. However, every time I've been in this establishment there has always been one employee that seemed to have a bad attitude. I have yet to deal with her until yesterday's visit but it was as expected from seeing her attitude the past two times I had been there. She did not greet us, when I spoke to her it was not a warm welcome indicative of this usually warm location. We ordered our food and I sat ourselves business as usual despite the attitude from the staff. About 5-7 minutes passed and we hadn't been given our coffee or water. This was surprising as it wasn't busy at all. Any who I kindly asked the lady if it was ok if we got our drinks and her response was "you'll get it when I make it. That's right." And then she kind of started backsliding in her tone and the manager heard the lack of respect she was showing the customer and tried to come over to get my coffee but I had had it by then and walked back to the table to talk with my family while the employee continued making fun of me with another customer. When I heard her making fun of me went directly to the manager and asked for my money back. As a Marine Veteran I have never felt so unwelcome. This is definitely a case where the bad apple has spoiled the bunch. I'd love to come back and give another review but I will not be there so long as the negativity is infecting all of the positivity I have...
Read moreAn amazing experience. It is definitely a beautiful treasure tucked in Bonton. The coffee shop is amazing and has an eclectic selection of homegrown and handmade items. Grab any staff member and they will answer any questions or share the farm's history. They also offer tours and have volunteer opportunities. I visited the chickens, roosters, goats and Lily the pig. The animals are very interactive with the staff which is a great indicator of the care provided. The restaurant is homey and aesthetically pleasing. I found the staff to be courteous and friendly. The watermelon lemonade was very refreshing and not overly sweet. I ordered the fried chicken. I'm a wing kinda person but they only had breasts. The breast was actually very moist and tender. The green beans were fresh and tasty. Gouda is one of my favorite cheeses so I was excited about the Mac and cheese. Not much cheese, dry, and room temperature. The pecan pie was the game changer. Absolutely delicious with the honey butter ice cream. A must try. My take away was a great overall experience. No collards, no wings, no peach pies and not the macaroni from instagram to be found during my visit. If the sole purpose for my visit was food I would have left super disappointed. However the overall experience was positive. Definitely will visit again and will return the Mac and cheese next time if the Gouda...
Read moreThis is the absolute best place in South Dallas. They do so much for the community and our planet with their sustainable farm to table initiatives and community out reach programs. We had our rehearsal dinner here and it was simply the best experience ever to work with Jonnika and her team. The chef created a stunning menu for us and our loved ones and the family style setup on the patio in the garden is a core memory we will never forget. Service team was astounding! Did I mention ours was a gay wedding and they didnât even make it an issue at all. In fact they said they were beyond happy to support us and anyone in the community because it takes all kinds to make our community so great. I highly recommend the honey butter latte with the fresh goat milk! 12 stars and highly recommend. Also can we just take a moment to talk about how lovely Tashamica is at the coffee house side!? My husband and I just love her and when I came in the other day and shared a story about the homeless veteran I met, her and the crew in the coffee house didnât even hesitate to help provide some direction and sound advice to get our friend help, but also donated an entire case of water to me as a gift to our veteran friend. These amazing humans are doing the werk werk werk in our neighborhood and it is beyond appreciated and honor...
