When I first moved to the area in Dec. 2022, we were greatly impressed with how beautiful and well maintained this park was.
Now it’s 2024, and it seems that Dallas Rec & Parks is not concerned with our beautiful neighborhood park.
The once vibrant fountain on the pond has been inoperable for over a year — I’ve sent a request to the city to repair it, they sent someone out who simply closed the case without any repair.
So now the pond is gross and filled with algae, and the majority of the turtles, and water fowl are gone, therefore it’s becoming an unchecked breeding ground for flies, and mosquitos!
Most of the trees that line the beautiful walking path have been attacked, diseased and are dying in droves. There’s literally dead and broken trees and tree limbs all over the trail — you’d think we were in a petrified forest.
To make matters worse, whenever the grass is cut, the grass clippings is never picked up or bagged, it’s simply cut and left.
Coming and walking this park with my dog used to be a highlight, now we just walk it out of a necessity for him to poop!
On a brighter note: the children’s play area is decent, and the park is located in a fabulous...
