I came for the workout, stayed for the results, and will keep coming back for the community and the person I’m becoming.
What started as a fitness challenge quickly became my favorite part of the day. I instantly fell in love with The Bar Method at White Rock Lake after my first class using the new client special. The front desk staff and instructors welcomed me by name and instantly made me feel like I belonged. And I don’t mean a fake, “customer-service” voice you might get other places, but a real, genuinely warm approach that makes me feel valued every time I walk through the front door.
The workout is everything! I used to struggle with sharp shoulder pain from slouching at a desk all day, but thanks to the expert instruction, posture corrections in class, and the nature of the exercises, that pain has nearly disappeared. In regard to strength, I was only able to do 3 push ups on the balls of my feet during my first class, but by my 13th class, I was up to 20 with a deeper, fuller range of motion. I’m excited for that number to increase (Who knew I’d be excited about doing push-ups?)!
What really sets The Bar Method WRL apart are the instructors. They don’t just guide you through the workout, they educate you. They explain the science and the “anatomical why” behind the exercises, helping you understand how it benefits your body. I always appreciate when my form is corrected to prevent myself from getting injured so I can get the most out of each class. And you don’t have to worry about being “called out” in a way that makes you feel embarrassed, either. In fact, the instructors go out of their way to individually celebrate your milestones. You quite literally get a personal training experience within a group fitness environment. And don’t get me started on the fire playlists.
With such quick results, a fun variety of classes, and instructors that feel like big sisters, I now plan my week around barre. Read more2024 UPDATE: I have been away from Bar Method for far too long. Life gets away from you and then you get out of routine…etc. I have come back after a long absence and the words I wrote back in 2018 (think that’s the right year) still ring true. Even being the prodigal member, Ally and Kayla welcomed me back with open arms and heart. They challenged me and reminded me how much I love these classes. Looking forward to regaining my strength and flexibility alongside these awesome women.
When you find an exercise class that you actually look forward to going to and you are sad when you have to miss, you know you’ve found a keeper! I started with the Community Classes last May. When I learned the monthly cost I thought, nothing can be worth that. BOY, WAS I WRONG! I’ve been coming for a year and it is worth every penny. I am so much stronger and more flexible now than I have ever been. When I started, I literally fell on my face trying to do a hands and feet push up. Now I can do them consistently! I can ALMOST do the splits!! I love the strong women who teach. Each makes us push beyond where we think we can go, but they do it in such an encouraging and empowering way. I am grateful for Bar Method every day. Read moreIf you’re thinking about it JUST DO IT!!! I would give them a 10 star if it was an option. I am starting my workout journey and I am 8 months postpartum plus I have 3 year old. I started off with Pilates and I enjoyed it but I didn’t feel motivated and I didn’t feel it targeting my problem area which is my lower belly /core. So I came across the bar method, let me just say how amazing they are very welcoming and very dedicated to making sure you are hitting every workout correctly. I’m 5 classes in and I can already feel my core strength coming back, it’s definitely different it’s not high intensity like cardio but you will definitely sweat and feel every workout in that moment and especially the next day. I am absolutely dedicated to see what a whole month of attending class will do for my overall health journey. I want to add how relaxing it is to be in one of these classes, also the focus to have great stretches in between the workouts and just the overall positivity in every class just convinced me that I’m at the right place.
