I only got to enjoy the rope course so that's what this review will mostly be about, but first I have to comment that the rest of the facility we saw was amazing. They have so much stuff to do out there such as a playground, some basketball courts (though most hoops were bent, but good for a casual game), a pool, and many more things that looked like fun outdoor summer camp activities.
Anyhow, I was out there for a work team outing and I think most of us agreed that this was one of the best outings we've had in a while; even though we were also exhausted at the end.
The rope course is set up for people/children to enjoy at their own comfort level. The Yellow course is the closest to the ground (probably about 8 feet high) and as far as I can tell it's fairly easy to navigate. There are two Green courses (I'd guess 12-16 feet high), two Blue courses (maybe in the 20s), and finally the single Black course (basically just over the tree tops).
Safety is definitely held to a high standard at this location. When you're putting on the harness/safety gear they're checking on you. They teach a little basics course on the ground and you need to prove that you understand the process/rules before you're allowed on the course. The equipment and course were in good condition and at no point did I ever feel like I was in danger.
Also, if you find yourself in need of assistance they provide you with a safety word (ours was fish sticks) and they'll help you down.
As far as the courses themselves I'd suggest doing Green 1 and Blue 1 if ziplines are your thing. Blue 2 is more physically challenging, but has a really fun jump at the end (yep, you jump completely off of a high platform and a strap thing slows your decent). Black is kind of a mix of physical/ziplines and has an even faster and taller jump at the end (which was my favorite part).
As I said earlier, prepare to be worn out. We have some people at my job that workout/run often and even they were breathing a little heavy just like I was. But you're encouraged to pace yourself and there are plenty of opportunities for breaks while up there.
Finally, if you're afraid of heights they offer seating in the area and if you have children with you there is a playground very near by. And like I said before, there are lots of other activities to check out at the park so you should be able to find something fun to do if rope courses are not your thing.
In the end, we all had a blast. From the group that I was a part of that climbed all the courses from Green and up to the rest of our party that recorded us during the more extreme parts of the courses and I'm sure we'll strongly consider coming back...
Read moreMy family is in town from New Mexico and with very little to do still, we found this place and decided to check it out. This experience was unforgettable! The activity itself was new for my sister, niece, nephew and myself so we weren’t sure of what we were getting into, we were just excited! The staff went above and beyond. The lady who checked us in at the beginning was so kind and personable and made checking in a smooth process. Then we went to the obstacles where there were three men; Mark, Alex and Zach. Again, all so kind and personable but it went beyond just that. Mark talked my sister through a few elements because she was terrified. Mark followed of us throughout the courses to ensure we were okay and having fun. Zach made my sister feel okay for not wanting to go on a higher level and we shared some convo and laughs with him while waiting for the kids. Towards the end of our session, my niece got stung by a wasp while she was on the black level. It was pretty painful and she wanted to quit so Alex went up to get her. Before he did that, he made sure to take a first aid kit with hem to treat her sting before bringing her down. He talked her into finishing the level with him by her side but at the end she was too scared to do the free fall. Both Mark and Alex were incredibly patient, motivating, understanding, calming, encouraging and overall amazing with her. After an hour of trying to convince her to jump they eventually had to get a rope to get her down but they never complained or showed any kind of annoyance. It was such a great experience because of all THE STAFF! They make it worth going back to. Thank you for being wonderful human beings and thank you for an experience we...
Read moreIt's the adult playground in the trees!
A mixture of zip lining and ninja warrior-esque obstacles, combining obstacles that require balance, technique, and sometimes strength, all while in the trees. Don't worry though, you are always connected to safety climbing gear that keeps you connected to safety lines.
The great thing about this place is that you are in control of which paths you want to go. They utilize legit climbing gear that is setup to allow you to clip in and out between every obstacle, all while always maintaining and ensuring your safety since the climbing gear they have keeps you clipped in at all times. Also, they do have plenty of staff at key points in case you were to get stuck at any time.
You do go through orientation for about 10-15 minutes about how the gear works and how to traverse the zip lines, but after that, you are left to adventure on your own. The start of the course is always the same, BUT once you climb to the top, you have about 6-8 ways to go. Each course ranges in difficulty, with the more difficult ones requires more endurance and strength.
Like I said though, this is an AWESOME experience you have to try out! You can easily spend the 3 hour block trying to complete each course without feeling rushed. Also, the view when you do the toughest obstacle is amazing since you are above the treeline and can see for miles!
Definitely worth trying out...
