Shenandoah Park — Attraction in Davie

🚫 Constantly Closed & Poorly Managed 🚫

This park has been a huge disappointment for anyone in the community hoping to simply enjoy outdoor space. The field at Shenandoah Park is almost always locked up and inaccessible, which makes no sense for a public park that should be serving residents. What makes it even worse is that the field itself isn’t being maintained to any high standard, it’s just sitting there with basic wear and tear, not manicured or upgraded, but still perfectly suitable for practices, casual play, or neighborhood use.

Instead of being open for families, kids, and residents to enjoy, the gates stay shut as if the park were a private facility. There is no visible reason for the closure, no ongoing construction, no obvious safety issues, and certainly no evidence of major upgrades being done. It feels like the park is being kept off-limits without justification, while the community loses access to one of the few green spaces in the area.

Public parks are supposed to be community resources, not locked-up fields collecting dust. If the Town of Davie isn’t going to properly maintain or improve this park, the least they could do is allow residents to use the space as it stands. This is a very nice park in the Shenandoah neighborhood in Davie. This park has two playgrounds. The old playground is near where you enter but if you follow the road around you can find the updated play area. It has a large play tower and handicapped modified play equipment. It's also covered in a nice canopy making it much more enjoyable to play. The kids can also take advantage of the splash pad next to the playground. Other park amenities include baseball and football fields, picnic shelters, grill,and tennis courts.

A new fire station is being constructed at the end of the playground so there is a lot of construction taking place just outside the fence.

The Shenandoah trail starts in the park. From there is winds around the Shenandoah neighborhood making a loop that ends up at the back part of the park making an ideal place for people to exercise.

Shenandoah park is an ideal place to spot wildlife, take the kids to play, exercise, or just to get some fresh air. With the updates to the kids play area this is a wonderful family park for the residents and...

Shenandoah park starts putting in many great things like the splash park, re do the basketball court and tennis court, they are also building this one floor office building at the park as well, We really hope it could be a swimming pool because so far, Shenandoah community has been voted best community in Davie, and we deserve to have a pool 🤣 My 2 year old also enjoy the playground as well, it has shades and the soft floor whatever they call that. And there is also a bigger playground for bigger kids.

I've noticed this park in a lake Nona community in Orlando has 2 ziplines and the kids really enjoy it, I think it would also be nice to have something like that in our park. I'm just putting it out there, ok 😂👍
