Based in Tucker County, WV, I would say this is one of the best kept secrets. Not a large waterfall but very very lovable.
Kids(and adults) can get into this clean water. Good place for enjoyment and photography.
Throughout the way (during the last part), there are boards elaborating the history and other details of the place. After the car parking (place available for about 10 cars), walk to the end (to the gate of a private property while keeping left at the fork). Access to the foot of the waterfalls is a bit hard for the kids (and the pets) but with some adult help it's not impossible. For the return, one can use the rope to climb up. Some places around to explore also, once you get down.
There are no restrooms available here.
Google map directions are apt. Last part of the drive is complete country road (no tar) but it is well set mud road.
It's not a crowded place and if you are in this part of the world and want to spend some quality family time together, this place is...

Absolutely beautiful waterfall. Unfortunately the river is also absolutely dead. The water (and rocks) are heavily discolored and polluted by acid mine drainage. You should not get in this water, even briefly. The only thing living in this water is extrenophile bacteria and algae.
This stop was a stark reminder of the lasting damage humans have brought upon this landscape.
Rough road getting there. Not for low...

If you’re needing an afternoon full of sunshine, peace and quiet, and waterfall mist, I highly recommend you make a pit stop here. This is one of my favorite places to take my clients for an adventure session with a waterfall, it’s super easy to see why! 😁
The drive coming in is very bumpy, so be prepared to ride in something with clearance. Small cars can still get through, just drive very slowly. You’re able to pull right up to the falls and park.
It is a short climb to get down, it’s almost always slippery and can be muddy. Definitely use...
