My first review got deleted. Hmm.
I have been taking my daughter here for the past 4 years. This year though will be our last. There is no capacity of people they let into the farm at one time. So essentially you couldn't even walk through without walking through people.
None of the "farmers" are walking around to be a voice for these animals. I sat and held a duck for 20 minutes just so it could have a break. In JUST that 20 minutes, I watched ducks get dunked into water for "swim school" over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. It never stopped. As soon as one was done getting dunked, it gets put right back into the bin with the others until the next person grabs it and does the same thing-seconds later. The towels to dry them off were soaking wet. Not to mention the area where they have "flight school". The amount of people i saw take a baby chicken and hold them high in the air telling them to fly, when really they fell straight down to the bin- was heartbreaking.
I haven't even started on the issue about the cow. Peter Pan is the first animal my daughter and I go to every year. We have countless pictures with him. He never seems to grow though? I know last year this farm had some people report the farm because of the look and wellness of especially Peter Pan. This year, they put a sign up saying this cow is NEW and he's a BABY. this is NOT true. That is still the same cow as other years. Proof is in my 4 years of pictures.
Its wonderful playing with animals, and baby animals at that, but something is NOT right here. I will not be going back. This is no longer a tradition my daughter and i will be doing. I will no longer be...
Read moreVery cute idea, however, the animals all seemed very over it. By that I mean they just run away from everyone because you can tell they are tired of being picked up over and over again all day by little hands. I see parents letting their “older” kids run around alone picking up animals and I’ve seen those kids being very rough with the animals (I’m sure they are just excited and don’t know a lot about how to handle animals which I get).
Also don’t get me started about the absolutely rude farmer who is clearly stressed out with all the kids being there and being excited. He yells at every kid including my son because he ran (which I know is a rule, no running, which I continuously support and was reminding my kids). He tried to make my son “come back and walk where you were running.” All while trying to argue with my 8 year old who was clearly confused as to why this farmer was yelling at him that way.
I’m sorry, he is not a parental figure to my children therefore he should be finding a way to speak to children in a nicer tone. If that is not possible because the stress of the season, they should not open the animals to the public. We will probably not be going back, which is sad because this place has potential.
I am honestly shocked that no one else is speaking up...
Read moreWe just left. It was recommended that we visit. Very small. The corn maze is a two and half foot tall area of slightly trampled corn husks. That isn't even the worst of it....the animal area was small but ok. But there was absolutely no oversight except a young kid who once stopped a few kids from climbing in the pig pen. There was a sign that said do not go in the pen. The kids were harassing this pig who was trying to burrow and hide. There were misbahaved kids and negligent parents handling the baby animals. The ducklings were running from people. All the animals played submissive and closed their eyes. This was seriously animal abuse. I would not recommend going nor supporting this farm just so they stop exploiting baby animals and allowing others to irresponsibly and aggressively handling...
