Palouse Falls is a spectacular nearly 300' waterfall located about an hour north of Walla Walla. It was formed during the period of massive floods during previous ice ages known as the Missoula Floods. It offers multiple trails, which though short are rewarding. Multiple basalt formations are present. The area offers 11 tent campsites which are available first come, first served, and year round through a self-service kiosk. Water is available during late spring and through autumn, though bring your own during early spring and winter. If you intend to camp here in the busier summer months be sure to come early to get a spot, as they go fast.

This is a must see waterfall! The month of May has strong flow than July. It’s less than an hour scenic drive from Walla Walla, the last 2 miles is a gravel road, walk up towards the top of the falls for a better view, no access below the falls, $5 to park or The American the beautiful pass is valid.

Tail coming in and out is bad, but it's all worth it!

Stunning. But please be careful on the narrow trails and rugged terrain. This has height. Don't be that person. Even my 8 yr old does very well. We LOVE it. Please keep Darwin in mind and be consious. * Do everyone a favor, this isn't the place for flip flops and trail "running" (yes I've actually seen people do this and it is the OPPOSITE of smart) Be prepared to wear decent shoes, and watch your feet!! The Centennial trail (and many) others are perfect for whatever footwear and running, and have easier water access if that's your vibe. **Be curteous and people being the opposite of smart could close this stunning park. Again, even my 8 yes old (and his friends) can; but it is steep, and cliffy, so use sense. Let's enjoy this STUNNING fall without actually being that person and falling off a stinkin cliff. BE SAFE...

We visited in March when the falls were full from snow melt. Excellent views available and many picnic tables. There were additional trails for the adventurous north of the park to see the rapids, which were marked as available at our own risk. The biggest detractor was that we didn't like the washboard road for the last stretch leading...
