Great for a day trip from Seattle or Portland . 10$ entry fee if you don't have Discover pass, cash was preferred .

The drive to the falls is amazing with rolling hills, wheat fields and canyon views. It's better to take different route when returning as the drive through Lyons bridge offer more views.

The parking can get crowded but it was managed well by park rangers.

They have picnic tables, water , toilet and a shaved ice truck when we visited.

Low network coverage in the park and the drive . Be equipped with water, food and snacks.

Very easy hike for elderly and kids, just a few steps from parking lot. It has few steps and gravel path so wheel chair access not possible. The best view of the falls is the shortest one close to parking lot, you can walk up the canyon to get view of river coming but view is t that great as it gets obstructed by the canyons .So even if you dont hike up you are not missing much, even that hike is also a very easy and doable one.

Several postings of rattle snake in area, we did also receive warning that they were spotted the day we visited.

We visited during Memorial Day weekend and there was water in falls , the rolling hills we're almost green , most beautiful were the crop fields ( wheat ?!) .

If you plan to have a picnic it's better to do at the State Park few minutes...

Palouse Falls is the official waterfall for Washington State . It is about 105 acres of sheer beauty that falls off into a canyon carved by the Ice Age . They have upgraded the safety of the trails so that all three viewing points are safe . It's one of the few places where I can take disabled and elderly relatives to see good views of the falls . The trail is short enough for children and older dogs . I spotted a groundhog, and there were other small creatures and butterflies. The fall is spectacular around spring with the snow melt . However, this visit was in high summer, so less water was flowing down . The Canyon is beautifully carved by the Ice Age into a work of art . There are several picnic areas , ample bathrooms , a drinking fountain, and green area. I set up a corn hole game in the green area as well as a picnic. There were many places for great selfies and romantic photos. This would be a great place to get engaged , then head to the beautifully restored Pasco Court house to get registered or marry, surrounded by marble staircases and ornate Victorian stained glass. The Palouse Waterfall is well worth visiting, and the country drive is calming , with spectacular sunsets over the rolling hills kissed in sagebrush, wild sunflowers, and the occasional...

Spectacular falls. Must have Discover Pass or pay to get in. Parking seem a bit limited; there are 3 small parking areas as in perhaps for 20 vehicles at most each. The waterfall is in front of the visitor center/parking area, just walk down a few steps from parking lot and the visitor overlook is right there, no need to hike up anywhere to see it. There were hiking trails. There are a few picnic tables in the visitor area/parking as well as restrooms. Not much else. Facilities are very limited in that regard. Keep in mind that this park is located largely in the middle of nowhere. Roads up to the park entrance were very good. The turn to the park, not very far from the town of Washtucna. The road to the park off 260 is 10 miles, not paved (plenty of dust) and gravel, but looked well maintained. Arid, desert-like, no pine trees scenic area, with nice rock formations, plenty of basalt. Again, it is a remote area, there may not be cellphone coverage (lost it outside Washtucna). Dogs allowed on leashes. Signs warning you that this is rattlesnake territory. Seeing the huge watefall was well worth the trip...

Pinch me 🤭 We visited Washington’s official state waterfall for the first time on our way to Walla Walla. After driving through fog for what seemed like forever, we couldn’t believe our eyes when it cleared and we saw a RAINBOW!! 🌈 The surrounding basalt cliffs were pretty impressive too 🙌🏽 📍 Palouse Falls State Park ✨ Be sure to bring a Discover Pass (or pay the $10 day use fee) to show love to our parks 🩵 • • • • #palousefalls #washingtonstate #explorewashington #evergreenstate #waterfallchasing #pnwcollective #wallawalla #wastateparks
