Mr Goldsmith, we also lived on Kingsley Ave growing up, did your family also live on Kingsley? I know the name. The Kids on our street grew up at Wesleyan Park. They actually built it when I was a kid, probably around 10 years old (?) So it was brand new. It was such a great park! Does anyone remember the exact year the park was started or finished? I have tried to locate that online and haven't run across those dates. Our favorite thing to do was hiking in the woods. Some of my best memories of being a kid are of the trails. It went back to Wolf Creek, and I'll be honest, we would walk along the sides of the cliffs, and probably could have fell and killed ourselves. (And if you knew me now, you'll know I'm far from a risk-taker. I'd be a big chicken, now! 😄) Oh, but it was fun back then. Read moreI don't rate things often, but I love this park and it was a lifesaver for the heatwave. The dogs still got to get out and walk shaded trails without being eaten by bugs and getting to the creek and walk the creek which kept them cool.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and was able to walk in the 90° heatwave for over an hour because of the water source and the shade. I also can't again express the fact that we did not get eaten by bugs. I had to forego Possum Park our normal walking trail because the biting bugs were are so bad this...

But after my experience with the park ranger this past Sunday I probably won't be back !
