I don't rate things often, but I love this park and it was a lifesaver for the heatwave. The dogs still got to get out and walk shaded trails without being eaten by bugs and getting to the creek and walk the creek which kept them cool. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was able to walk in the 90° heatwave for over an hour because of the water source and the shade. I also can't again express the fact that we did not get eaten by bugs. I had to forego Possum Park our normal walking trail because the biting bugs were are so bad this time of year.

This use to be a decent area to go relax, enjoy a nice family outing, and nature watch. Now it has really went down hill. The Staff trys to keep it clean and nice but the younger folks seem to have no respect for others. They trash the place nightly and have started to flip the portapotty and set fire to the trash cans. Very sad!

Mr Goldsmith, we also lived on Kingsley Ave growing up, did your family also live on Kingsley? I know the name. The Kids on our street grew up at Wesleyan Park. They actually built it when I was a kid, probably around 10 years old (?) So it was brand new. It was such a great park! Does anyone remember the exact year the park was started or finished? I have tried to locate that online and haven't run across those dates. Our favorite thing to do was hiking in the woods. Some of my best memories of being a kid are of the trails. It went back to Wolf Creek, and I'll be honest, we would walk along the sides of the cliffs, and probably could have fell and killed ourselves. (And if you knew me now, you'll know I'm far from a risk-taker. I'd be a big chicken, now! 😄) Oh, but it was fun back then. So, Moms and Dads, be aware there are some pretty high cliffs back in the woods. They were probably only about 10 feet high, and we just thought they were high! But it's...
