De Pere Dog Park — Attraction in De Pere

Beautiful dog park with variety of play areas for your dog. Sadly the dog owners at the dog park changed since I was here with my last dog a few years ago. I am here currently-9/8/2024 with my 6 month old GR for the first time. 3 big dogs in the small dog area, I couldn’t go in there which would have been perfect for my dogs size & age. We tried the big dog area where I only saw 2 dogs-a friendly GR & medium size pitbull. We went in & the 2 dogs came right over but then the pitball jumped on my dog right away & I kept yelling for the owners to get their dog off mine. Unfortunately they were both deaf & not watching their dog. The owner of the GR was very kind & helpful. I got out of the park as quickly as I could. Great dog park. The small dog side has agility equipment that my puppy absolutely loved, and the larger side has hiking trails that go around the outskirts of the park and are nice to walk along. In the winter/spring there was a huge pile of wood chips that they put along the paths to keep them from getting to slippery, which was very nice (not sure if that's a year round thing since we haven't been back in the past month or two). My dog also thought that running up and down the mulch pile was pretty much the coolest thing ever, so that's an additional perk, though unintended I'm sure. De Pere Dog Park is a great place to take your furry friend for a run, play fetch, or just socialize with other dogs. The park is large and fenced in, so your dog can run free without worrying about getting lost or hurt. There are also plenty of trees and shade for your dog to relax under on a hot day.

We took our dog here to train him, and he loved it. The large open spaces were perfect for us to practice our commands, and the trails were great for him to run and explore. We also met a lot of other friendly dogs and owners at the park, which made for a fun and social experience.
