UPDATE June 2025: Warning. The visitors to this park have become irresponsible with their dogs and I no longer visit this park after two times departing due to aggressive dogs and owners. The regular visitors are no longer able to coerse others to manage their dogs responsibly, and I do not want other dogs aggressively attacking my Rottweiler. Because of this owner behavior, I also question the health of their dogs and what diseases they may spread. Please proceed with caution to protect your pets. My original comment below is for historic value. I also down voted my rating because of these actions.
I started visiting the Gemini Springs dog park from my home in Orlando starting the spring of 2021 to play long-throw fetch with our 6 month old Rottweiler puppy. It gave socializing a whole new meaning when we met the over-25 pound dogs and their masters. I learned then how important it is for dogs to learn not just socializing during a walk but behaving appropriately when playing with other dogs in wide open spaces.
That opportunity is experienced when other dogs push the envelope of playing and get a bit too aggressive. What attracted me to this park are the masters who pay close interest in their dogs as well as others, especially when conflicts arise. One never knows when new dogs might react too aggressively but when they are beyond reasonable control, either humans or dogs will intervene to correct the behavior. This is a rare occurrence but knowing there are others there to share dog stories and best practices is priceless.
But there is way more beauty in this nature park that includes waterways, playgrounds, and vast open spaces. My favorite part of our visits are the group dog walks through the sabal palms and oaks that feel like the insides of grand cathedrals. This is a beautiful Florida park and well maintained. That's why we drive from Orlando weekly to a place full of...

As soon as you arrive, you're greeted by endless trails perfect for walking, hiking, or biking, surrounded by miles of serene nature. The park's trails are well-maintained, and benches are placed thoughtfully along the paths, providing rest stops for those who need them.
One of the standout features is the expansive dog park, where dogs can roam off-leash in a safe, open space. Nearby, the "OK Corral" area offers a fantastic spot for gatherings, complete with a gazebo, plenty of picnic tables, and large grills. The convenience of handicap parking right next to this area makes it accessible to all.
The park also boasts several peaceful ponds, ideal for fishing or simply unwinding by the water on one of the many benches. Families will love the playground located near the parking area, making it easy for kids to have fun while parents relax. There’s even a large open field where we saw some kids practicing soccer, making it a versatile spot for various outdoor activities.
Clean bathrooms, an event space for rentals, and scenic views make this park a perfect choice for everything from casual visits to larger gatherings like baby showers or reveal parties. Read moreInteresting Park with several small springs.
There is a lot of room here for getting outside and enjoying a good weather day.
A small sinkhole that is still open was quite interesting to see, as were the several small springs that pour into a larger body of water that flows out to the St Johns River.
Ample picnic tables and pavilions, large lawns for kids and the young to play.
Fishing was allowed, and it was enjoyable seeing people enjoying that sport.
Being a rather large park it would be easy to get in a good walk just following all the paths.
I believe there was more than we were able to see on our one visit. Bathrooms were clean and located throughout the park.
A nice playground for the kid was popular with some sunshades over the top. It was pretty nice for a park playground.
If I lived near, I would certainly visit frequently just to walk the bridges and look into the water and see the fish, watch the fishermen, and enjoy the walking trails. This is however not a nature park with long hiking trails, but more of a public park that is big enough that you can easily get a walk in and keep on the move.
The slower flow of the springs has a good bit of the water not as clear as you expect from springs where there is a large amount of water coming out of the spring head. It is none the less a pretty area of water with several small springs and you can see into the water, even in the larger areas where it pools.
Looks like a very good place if you need to accommodate a...
