We've been here twice to dig in the sand pits (my son loves finding treasure!) and figured it would be a great place for a birthday and try one of the other activities. So we booked his 5th birthday party, it happened today, and it was AMAZING!!! We had 11 kids total. They gathered and learned a bit about prehistoric Deerfield and the dinosaurs that would have lived in the area. The big activity planned was they panned for fossils! The panning took longer than I thought it would, which was great. But not too long that it took up the whole party, so they had plenty of time to do other things. The kids loved it. After, they did an activity with making a volcano erupt with vinegar and baking soda, and there was a lovely tent with plenty of seating where we had cake and snacks. There was a lot of shade to escape the hot sun, which was great. The kids had a blast running through the dino forest walk and playing on the triceratops sculpture. They all got balloon animals before leaving. I think we'll definitely have another party here someday! Also the staff is lovely, great with kids, and very helpful with...

This place has been my kid's favorite place for the last four years. We started going when they were 2 and 4, now they are 6 and 8 and STILL love it just as much. It's always the #1 thing on their summer bucket list. We've done mining (kids get hard helmets and a headlamp and go into a dark room to search for hidden gems), we've done the digging (kids get shovels and dig in a big sand pit to find treasure), we haven't done panning yet, but that's on their list. It's kind of unbelievable the amount of fun my kids have at this place. It's pretty small, there's a nice mulched outdoor area behind the shop with a cool dinosaur trail, but it's real draw is that it's IMAGINATION inspiring. So in my kids' minds, this place is massive, and magical. I absolutely love seeing their faces when they discover fossils, and unearth gems. This place gives me faith in humanity and the beautiful wonder of being a child. I think I love it as much...

We had our son’s birthday party here and invited all the kids in his preschool class. On all accounts the experience was delightful. All the kids loved panning and digging for gems and minerals! Even the parents kept talking about how great the place was and how they would have loved it when they were kids. The ladies helping us out and running the store were so sweet and helpful, and the store itself is wonderful with all sorts of treasures. I highly recommend the big gumball machine that gives out little plastic balls filled with random treasures. The price for the party package was very affordable, and in this day and age where birthday parties can be very expensive, it was great to support a small business that actually cares, make some great memories for our kids, and be able to invite all his friends without breaking the bank. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. We feel very fortunate to...

This is a great little gem of a shop. When we pulled up, I'll be honest I wasn't very sure about it, but it definitely won me and my entire family over. We went on an 'archaeological dig' in the back, amongst some life sized dinosaurs. Then we went mining for gems and fossils in the 'mines' in the back of the shop. Followed by panning for some treasures out front. My kids (8, 4, and 1 and a half) loved it all. My oldest loved to see new gemstones or fossils and match them to the guide they provide. He's so excited to show his teacher and classmates this year at school. The prices were very reasonable. We are from SC and did the panning thing at the Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach earlier this year. We probably did two of the activities at this shop for the price of that. Stop by there, and give it a chance. I am definitely glad that we did.
