🌲 A Peaceful and Family-Friendly Adventure at George W. Childs Park 🌊
We had such a wonderful time visiting George W. Childs Park! It was a perfect spot for a day trip with the kids. The nature trails are well-marked and not too difficult, which made it great for children to explore safely. Along the way, we enjoyed beautiful views of waterfalls, little wooden bridges, and lots of shady spots to rest or have a snack.
The sound of rushing water and the fresh air made the whole experience relaxing. The kids especially loved watching the water cascade over the rocks—it felt like a little magical forest! 🧚♀️🌿
There were plenty of places to take photos and capture memories. It’s not only a fun outing, but also a chance to teach children about nature and enjoy quality time together away from screens and busy routines.
We highly recommend George W. Childs Park to families looking for an easy, beautiful hike with natural beauty and lots of space to enjoy the outdoors. Just remember to bring water, comfy shoes, and maybe a light lunch for a picnic!
We’ll definitely be...
Read moreSo I havent been here in over 5 years while the park was cleaned up after the devastating storm that ripped through several years ago. A part of me felt like my heart had been storm battered at the loss of this beautiful outdoor space during all these years of restoration. As I hiked through this morning, it was incredible to see the devastation left behind. I cant even imagine what it looked like before clean up efforts! The work is beautiful and so deeply appreciated. My spirit gladdens that this precious outdoor space is returned to those who love to visit and appreciate it. 🥰 The parking lot is still closed for the winter season but the trails were accessible and the falls running beautifully in the spring thaw. Evidence of restoration is everywhere along the path. The work is amazing and was worth waiting for. Tread lightly as the beauty of Child's park is able to once again mesmerize outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Thank you to all who made the...
Read moreThis has turned into a Zoo controlled Federal Gov't project. They have 4 park ranger paid for by our tax dollars that's funded by the federal government... they no longer let you walk off the trails or get in the water. I was actually yelled at for looking at the falls... (ok that's a joke), but they stated that "400 people NYC" came and used the park as their own personal water park and let it trashed. I do understand when a bunch of irresponsible people destroy an area something needs to be done. Putting a life guard and / or fining people for stupid actions. But to restrict everything that the park is known for is another example of our money being used to control our lives. If you are driving here to swim or picnic don't because it's not possible anymore.... they do have a couple picnic areas but I'm sure they will eventually stop you from doing...
