To quote my wife, "This must be what heaven is like" Peaceful, tranquil, therapeutic, romantic are just a few words to describe this beautiful bucolic setting that we were blessed to find and book for my birthday weekend 6/2/24 - 6/5/24 What a treasure! The owner Lamar has made a paradise in the woods! He and his fiancee Terri maintain the property and live onsite and are very nice and welcoming! Inside the bedroom of our cabin was a Happy Birthday sign waiting for me which was a VERY nice and thoughtful touch! I appreciated it very much!!! If you're looking for a getaway, a break, an unwind, unplug and recharge from the daily grind of life, look no further. Surrounded by nature and her beautiful furry little creatures that roam the property and pretty birds plus their local deer affectionately named Cheese by the owners, you can just breathe in the fresh air and be at peace. 5 lovely cabins with enough space between them for privacy. They range from the cozy adorable looking Stargazer which I originally wanted but was booked already, then they move up in size and price (prices are fare and well worth the experience) and we booked the 3rd one The Toasted Marshmallow Cottage and we couldn't have been happier!!! Inside is everything you need for your stay and so clean!!! My favorite and simplest thing I did and enjoyed immensely was just sitting in front of the fire pit in front of our deck after checking out the local falls, shops and restaurants. The firewood is provided by Lamar and he will show you how to start the fire if you need help. I literally was able to sit in front of the fire pit for 5 hours straight happily!!! Just watching the dancing flames and adding wood as needed and just immersing myself in the surroundings and sounds of nature. My wife was impressed and fell in love with Babbling Brook Cottages and we plan on coming back for sure!!! Please be respectful of the property and other guests, nobody played any loud music ever at all, no smoking at all allowed on the property which was a huge bonus! A few simple rules to follow to maintain the integrity and beauty of this oasis. I can write more but the best thing you can do for yourself if you're reading this review is to check out their website and other reviews, do your due diligence, research and find out for yourself what you didn't even know you were missing!!! I have to thank Google for showing this place after I typed in Cabin in the woods in the search box. Babbling Brook Cottages was just such an attractive name that I had to check it out and SO GLAD I DID! 😁👍👍👍👍👍 Thank you Lamar and Terri and Stella!! Stella a big beautiful Great Dane that Lamar rescued and cares for. Really...

I will strongly advise NO ONE to go to this place. My family and I planned a last minute getaway on May 23rd 2015 - May 25th 2015 and we decided to stay at BABBLING BROOK COTTAGES because it looked perfect and very comfortable. But as they say looks are very deceiving... What a nightmare.. Such a horrible trip. Patricia and her son are the owners and they are the most disgusting, horrible, nasty, deceiving, money taking individuals I have ever met in my entire life. When we booked, we were not 100% sure about how many guests we had, when we got there we paid additional money for the additional guests. They saw the amount of people we had, they saw the kids (all under the ages of 8) they saw our 2, 9LBS dogs as well... Our trip was a total of $1060.56, which $200.00 was a refundable fee, so therefore it was $860.56. There were absolutely no issues when they walked us to the cabin and gave us the tour, they even showed us how to use the stove. They waiting for about 4 hours into our mini getaway and then told us to leave. At the point it was about 9pm. With no where to go, we had to take our children and our dogs and leave because they called the cops. We waiting for the cops to arrive, the cops saw that we were 100% corporative while Patricia was ranting and raving and calling us thieves and saying that we broke into her place. The cops saw that the place were pretty much just as we received it. The cops took a report and we left. Patricia told us she will give us some of our money back and to be honest when we tried to get our money she said she is NOT giving us any money back. She claims that the plants were destroyed, which is bullshit. I have videos that the place was left perfect. She even told us that she will destroy her place and say we did it. Mind you, you are not allowed to have a guest for more than an hour. We were not playing music, we were simply sitting outside playing cards while the kids were sitting out on the grass.

This was the most horrible experience I ever had and I will not advise anyone to spend their money to stay their. Now I am going forward with a law suite, because they are not humans and as business owners, that is NOT the proper way to conduct...

WE LOVE BABBLING BROOK. 2020 was a rough year, and by late summer we were craving being away from the city and breathing in fresh clean air. I wanted to go somewhere where we could hike and be surrounded by trees and maybe be close to a waterfall or lake; Poconos was it, and close to us. But we had no idea where to stay, and so I got online and started digging around. I'm so thankful I came across the website for Babbling Brook.

I looked at the cottages online, sent off an email with a million questions, and Lamar got right back to me. He told me that he was the new owner and then answered all my questions and gave me background on the place and himself. I was put at ease and he was extremely helpful. We booked a cabin for a week in August.

When we got there I was amazed at how ridiculously cute it was. Beautiful new paint job, immaculate grounds, and a friendly reception (which followed all the masked protocols- they were very diligent about this, which put me at ease). The cabin was spacious, "rustic chic" and totally charming; the pictures on the website were exactly how it looked. It also had all the comforts of home, and was EXACTLY the getaway we needed after a stressful spring and summer. We hiked, we drove around to all the neighboring towns, we explored the state parks, and we got to know the Poconos. We loved our stay so much we extended our vacation by 3 days.

It felt like the right size of property for me, in that there are 5 cabins together tucked under the trees, but you never feel like you are on top of each other; there is plenty of space if you feel like you need a little solitude. The people at the other cabins were respectful, quiet and friendly. It was so great to sit out on the deck and have a stress-free meal or a drink around our own fire pit. Lamar and his partner were helpful with requests and adept at knowing things we'd need or be interested in without us even asking. Great attention to detail and pride in their property and providing a relaxing stay.

I could go on, but I'll close with this: We went back 4 months later in December for another week, and are booking a week again in August 2021. That tells you how much we enjoy staying at...

Wow! What an amazing retreat! A perfect mix of nature and the outdoors with enough conveniences of home. My husband and I brought our daughter (Dani) and puppy (Jazmin) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We searched for a place for a long weekend getaway for the whole family including our dog. Wasn't sure what to expect, but this place blew away our expectations. It was so nice and relaxing. The grounds were beautiful and the cottages were so well maintained. The Bear Claw had everything needed to grill or cook, and the beds were so amazingly comfortable! The owner (Lamar) kept the historic features of the cottages which made it so cozy. He and Terri took care of every detail down to setting up a fire pit that any city dweller could light! The bathrooms were spotless and just enough size. Our hosts provided a manual with everything you wanted to consider doing. We focused on the recommended trails and really enjoyed the town of Milford. They even had a separate pamphlet for your Pup - what trails you can take them on, restaurants you can take them to. Would highly recommend the PEEC, it's the PA Environmental Education Center and there are several trails you can take your dog. Also, if not grilling, recommend visiting Dimmicks Inn for lunch or dinner as everything we tried was delish...and recommended in the manual. Cool spot to listen to some live music as well. However, don't miss out on sitting by the fire pit and enjoying the absolute serenity of listening to the orchestra of Cicadas. Our whole experience was awesome, and a reflection of the kind of people Lamar and Terri are!

Perfect Getaway Just looking for a place to rest our heads while doing some light hiking and waterfall exploring but found so much more at Babbling Brook Cottages. Pulling up to Fireside Pines, it was picturesque, surrounded by beautiful blooming spring flowers, eye-catching red paint, a welcoming front porch and sparkly outdoor lights. Inside we found a roomy and yet very cozy cottage, decorated perfectly, and stocked with much more than we needed. Everything was very clean and as pictured. The welcome basket included treats and lots of local information with maps and trail info. We enjoyed reading the book containing the cottage’s history and showing the improvements made since Lamar took over. We were even able to play a few of the outdoor games set up - fun and not something we get to do often. Each night we relaxed around our private, outdoor fire pit. The location was great and central to so many waterfalls, hikes and close to PEEC (also with several nice, clearly marked trails). Lamar was very responsive and we enjoyed meeting him, Terri, and friendly Stella. We were definitely sad to leave and are already plotting our return! I don’t really want to post this because I’m afraid BBC will get booked up and not have availability for us again– LOL! But seriously, we highly recommend BBC and wish them much success. We’ll be back! p.s. The digital guide Lamar provided was so helpful and saved so much time in having to google everything – another great idea we appreciated!

My husband and I stayed at snugglers notch. The cabin is small but we already knew this and were happy with the tiny home idea. Bed was comfortable. I love there was 2 different pillow thicknesses to choose from and multiple blanket choices as well. Bathroom was very small which we were fine with as it was just my husband and I. Was able to shower just fine. Towles were nice and soft. The kitchen and everything in it was very nice. The zoomie zone for the dogs is a nice size. I wish there was a small bench in there to sit on while your dogs play. There were some games set up on the main lawn for the guests to play. The merchandise is very nice as well. Hoddies are super soft! We are in love with them. Overall we had no complaints. The outside fire pit area was AMAZING! loved the bestro lights as well. Lamar was very friendly and helpful and got back to me right away when called or texted. He even reset the firepit as well which was so very nice. Only thing I would suggest would be the small bench in the zoomie zone and maybe a two person bench of some kind by the firepit as my husband and I woulda loved to sit together and cuddle by the fire. Overall Babbling Brook Cottages was AMAZING and PEACEFUL! My husband and I plan to make this a yearly getaway. This year was snugglers notch with just him and I and our 2 dogs. Next year will be with our kids in the bear claw cabin and we plan to alternate back and forth. Thank you guys for the amazing stay. We loved it!
