Voiers "Pit" Park — Attraction in Deming

10-19-2020 good to see you putting in the handrail as I suggested... 5 - 29 - 2020 what is it with these DPW workers just sitting around in the park in their trucks, moving some weeds once in awhile... down to 2 Stars from three stars... 5 - 22 - 2020 we smell a lawsuit coming...What is code for stair railing? On a stair, since handrail must be between 34" and 38", the handrail and the top of the guard can be one and the same. *In commercial applications, the IBC requires a minimum height of 42". * Those porta potties we mentioned last week need to be added also... moving it from four stars to three stars... Maybe it's time to contact the mayor's office ... 5 - 11 - 2020 okay, things are coming along fairly nicely at the lake... However, two or three porta potties are needed, one or two at the upside of the actual Park/parking area , and one is needed at the west side of the park on the top walking trail... Also needed, are metal handrails on the new tall steep steps that lead from the lake up to the Park / parking area ... 12 - 21 - 19 we've been asked a number of times, when are they going to put in some toilets... the fishermen seem to really appreciate the 75,000 fish being stocked... nice work putting in the porta potties and the garbage cans... 6 - 6 - 19 the word from some of the construction guys is that the lake will be full next week! however it may be late July before it is ready for use... still just having it full of water will be nice :-) 6 - 1 - 19 Water in the lake! 5 - 1 - 19 getting close! Great local park and lake. Plenty of room to walk, run or exercise. Construction of new lake is still ongoing but is moving along nicely. Picnic areas around the parking area with walking along the top (just under a mile) with trails down below. There is a 6 screen movie theater, bowling alley and bar/entertainment across the street. Also a newly added sidewalk that leads to Walmart (fishing license and supplies), fast food (Wendy's, Little Ceasar's, IHOP, Subway in Walmart), Dollar General and others. There is an amphitheater/pavillion for weddings, special events and gatherings. Look out for dinosaurs too... Great getaway for one or...

What a wonderful addition to deming! Well done City council or whomever! There is brand new exercise equipment using body weight which I used. A pond with ducks and fishing. Sitting benches, picnic tables. Cute little dinosaur display. I'm going to try and walk around the entire park tomorrow. I've watched the evolution of this from a pit in the ground to this park as we stay in Deming once a year. I see there's a splash area on the other side. Wonderful liveability feature! Just keep it maintained...
