I’ll give this place 4 stars for location. It’s a decent park with a lot of potential. It’s tucked away off of Jefferson rather close to the points. I saw one porto potty in terms of facilities. It appears there’s been some recent cleanup, however this park certainly hasn’t been taken care of & needs some TLC. personally I wish it had a better place to launch kayaks & paddle boards. I found one makeshift area that worked…just get ready to get dirty getting in & out. The day I went out there a big event was going on…it was crazy how bad people were parking. Eventually the Sherifs came out to help control. This park is at an interesting location as it’s near the Detroit canals & as a starting point for kayaks. Within walking distance is a cool restaurant & outdoor expedition adventure spot (to rent kayaks & other water craft). The canals are interesting to check out too. I simply gave 3 stars because a lot of TLC is needed. Overall...
Read moreThe park is an excellent place to bring your chairs to sit back and relax with your significant other or friends. There is a basket ball area for a those who want to do a little physical activity. Also, there is a boat marina where all the beautiful boats are docked. The park is well maintained, clean, with safe atmosphere. There is minimal police presence for security and the people are friendly, pleasant, and very cordial. We were in the marina, which is only for the boaters. This area is well maintained as well and the boaters were all helping and assisting each other; visiting, partying, and having a good time. It's like they are family. Many boaters took their boats out and sailed down the waters to see and listen to the live entertainment at The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre. The park is wonderful with lots of parking space and area to enjoy a fun evening. It"s a Five...
