I scheduled my event for September 2025 in June 2024. In January 2025, I received a notification from the center informing me that my event had been canceled due to a city project. This situation has caused significant frustration and inconvenience. I have already arranged for a mass and vendors for that date, for which I have made payments and provided deposits. Consequently, I was compelled to search for an alternative venue. Additionally, it is particularly aggravating that the return of my deposit for the venue may take four to six weeks. It is unreasonable that they canceled my event; they should have been prepared to refund my deposit within a week of the cancellation. My fiancé and I just booked this venue for our wedding reception next year. This struck us as a beautiful reception venue with a community center cost. So far, they have taken good care of us and worked with us on dates, and as nonresident, we were able to book a year and a half in advance. The only issue with this venue so far is that residents typically book over a year and a half in advance - their first available Saturday was next December. We changed our date to a Sunday.
