Hancock Performing Arts Center — Attraction in Diamondhead

Very disappointed in the way this facility is run, although the show was well done. We were there for a dance recital and the staff were not very polite and made everybody wait outside for over 30 minutes in 92 degree heat when the lobby was empty. And even more frustrating the facility made a police officer (whom we appreciate being there and he was only doing what he was told I imagine) spend the entire performance running around and telling people to not record or turn there phones off. Look, we get why its preferred not, but who really cars of somebody snaps a no-flash picture of their kid on stage. Everybody around us was distracted the entire time by him and it really took away from our children's event. More importantly the officer was always running around for cell phones he never actually spent any time keeping an eye on the doors or security. I can only assume this was due to the policy of the Hancock Performing Arts Center but It made us feel less safe and annoyed. We wouldn't book or attend this...

This is a beautiful facility! Our daughter and I had our ballet performance at this performing arts center. Everything from the backstage areas (including ample space and dressing areas) to the stage, sound, lighting, and audience seating was wonderful. If you've a need for a performance venue, I highly suggest you look into this...

Wonderful Arts Center. My performed her first dance recital here. The seats were comfortable and the stage was large and perfect for these types of recitals. However, the parking was sparse for such as large building that could hold a lot of people. Make sure you get their early because the parking ran out very quickly...
