I went to Brentwood for picking strawberries and cherries many years since moving to Bay Area. This was the first time I ever had to pay an entrance fee of $1 for each person. Was it a rip off since no one else ever required an entrance fee for picking fruits?!!
On top of that, the boxes provided for the strawberries picking were very low quality. The staples were not even done right and could poke you if you did not pay attention to them (See attached photo).
When paying for the strawberries, they did not subtract the weight of the box (each box was charged $0.50 cents up front at entrance). I felt like I was being double charged for the boxes.
The strawberry field available for picking was only half of the area. For some reasons, the other half of the field was blocked off. With so many peoples already in the field picking strawberries, there were really not that many left for picking when I went in. What was the point for paying the entrance fee when you could not pick a good amount of strawberries! They charged you $3.50 per lb. for the fruit. I felt I could get a better deal buying the ones from Costco which tasted better! I will not go back to this place when I go strawberry...
Read moreMy bestie and I ended up stuck in the mud after heavy rain, attempting to get some strawberries here. After 15 minutes of trying our best we could not get the car unstuck. Someone from Berry Best Family came out after watching our pathetic struggle, he brought wooden blocks and an amazing spirit. Then another person from berry best family farm also came to help and push the car and allow us to become unstuck. The family's kindness knows no bounds as they also helped us clean the excessive mud off out windshield with water from their farm, a precious resource here in California as we know. We bought some strawberries and other produce after the fiasco and by God their strawberries are delicious, sweet and suple. You will not regret visiting this place. Amazing produc, great prices and amazing people. Que Dios...
Read moreWe came here specifically for strawberries because the other farms in the area looked to be cherry only farms. The qualities of strawberries was very good considering the time (late May) and we were able to pick about 2 pounds worth (2 adults and 2 kids) within a 30 minute time period. They do have a minimum of 4 pounds, but we couldn't find enough nice ones to meet the 4 pound minimum (luckily the woman at the front still let us check out). My only nitpick is that it is cash only, they charge you an entrance fee (albeit $1/person), and a fee for the basket ($0.50). Not a big cost but most farms in the area only charge you for the fruit you take, not...
