Miami | Why No Alligators in Everglades National Park?

Beautiful trail. For the bike, about 2.5 hours at a moderate pace. However, the richness of nature, numerous reptiles and birds attract attention, so frequent stopping increases the travel time. But it is worth looking around because animals in their natural environment, treated with respect and maintaining a safe distance, should be the only form of contact with these animals. Very helpful employees, well-kept infrastructure. Great to go with a good camera. Be sure to have plenty of water and sunscreen.

Long, straight, paved trail all the way to the outlook tower. Great for walking or biking. Gets pretty hot in the summer, as it's not in any shade and paved- so bring plenty of water. Along the canal we saw alligators, many different birds (herons, anhinga,..), different types of turtles (Florida Softshell), large Lubber Grasshoppers and fish (Florida Gar,..).

Was really looking forward to seeing some gators but it depends on your luck. It costs $35 to enter which is a bit ridiculous given that there’s only a loop trail available and a watch tower at the halfway point. If you want to rent bikes it’ll be $25 per person and then you’re off to a strait path for 2.5 hours. The scenery wasn’t bad but it gets repetitive after 30 minutes. My only regret is spending that much on a national park that...

If you want to make it to the watchtower get there before 4 pm to rent bikes or catch a tram or be prepared to walk 7 miles there and back. The trail is paved with black top, so if it's sunny it makes for a real hot walk. Expect to see alligators and various birds within feet of the trail. So close you could poke them with a stick (please do not poke alligators...
