âââââ 5/5 â Art Car World in Douglas, AZ is an Unforgettable Masterpiece of Madness!
Our adventure to this one-of-a-kind museum started by pure chanceâsomeone at the Queen Mine Tour told us to visit the Last Supper Museum, and that museumâs owner insisted we couldnât leave Douglas without seeing Art Car World. And oh man, were we glad we listened!
When we arrived, the lobby was empty, so we called outâand like a guardian angel of weirdness, Hunter (tour guide/historian extraordinaire) appeared mid-tour. He warmly welcomed us to explore on our own or join his group. We did both, and it was the best decision ever.
What Youâll See: A Carnival of Automotive Insanity! This place is a riot of creativityâevery car is a jaw-dropping, head-scratching, laugh-out-loud spectacle. Just a few highlights: A stained-glass Volkswagen (like a church on wheels!) A car covered in 1,000 toy horses (allegedly a Guinness World Record holder!) A Mad Max-worthy post-apocalyptic beast A jewel-encrusted, bead-covered rolling treasure chest A 8,000-pound brass-covered monstrosity A cactus car with glowing interior lights (only in Arizona!) A space-alien vehicle that looks like it crash-landed from another dimension
And thatâs just the startâevery corner held something new, bizarre, and wonderful.
Why You NEED a Tour with Hunter If Hunter is there, WAIT for his tour! His stories bring these art cars to lifeâwho made them, how they were built, and the wild visions behind them. He even shared that the museum has boutique hotel rooms upstairs (how cool would it be to sleep surrounded by this madness?!).
Future Attraction: Giant Dome Across the Street! Hunter told us about a massive 100-foot-tall dome arch being built nearby, where a suspended, illuminated car will become a landmark. Weâll definitely be back to see that!
Visitor Tips: Donation-based entry (Support this incredible placeâitâs worth every penny!) Bring cash for donations (and maybe buy a souvenir!) Check the website (ArtCarWorld.com) or call ahead (â 520-805-0936) to confirm hours or arrange a private tour.
Final Verdict: A Must-See Road Trip Detour! If youâre anywhere near Arizona or New Mexico, drive to Douglas just for this. Itâs a destination museumâunlike anything youâve ever seen. Art Car World is a celebration of imagination, rebellion, and pure joy. Donât miss it!
(P.S. The Last Supper Museum is also coolâreview coming soon!)

Read moreThis place is simply amazing. The service, the cars, and everything more than exceeded my expectations.
I was invited to a birthday party at a museum, and since I was already in town for business, Hunter, the person overseeing our experience, went above and beyond to accommodate our group's needs. He arranged the perfect setup for our business project, impressing our local clients.
But the best part was the museum itself. The art car collection and bilingual storytelling during the group tour were captivating. Later, we enjoyed an event on the second floor with live music and games at sunset â it was truly exceptional.
Hunter's commitment to our comfort and satisfaction was evident throughout. I can't wait to return for more experiences at this amazing place â the museum is just the beginning of what it...
Read moreJust took my first tour of Art Car World and it was AMAZING! Also there are guest rooms above the museum, which was great since I was coming in from Houston. So I got to stay two nights and check out this funky small border town, Douglas AZ. And since it's really close to Whitewater Draw, I got some amazing bird watching in - and took lots and lots of photos. And atArt Car World it was great to see groups of people from Bisbee, Tucson and all over America come to see this visionary museum. I highly recommend get a tour either from Tour Guide Extraordinaire, Hunter Mann or by the creator of Art Car World, Harrod Blank, who is also an art car artist and award-winning filmmaker. The picture I uploaded is of Hunter Mann dusting off all the cars in the early morning preparing for the many...
