Trails in this area are pretty slick, plus the midstate and grand trunk run straight through here. The trails are mostly good for hiking, annoying loose stones thrown up by ATV and Motorcross riders make biking a chore at times (motorized vehicles are not allowed here). However. Want a place to hang out at the weekend during nice weather that has a swimming spot? Don't bother coming here, I've shown up to go boating before about 45 mins before opening and I'd guess the line of cars was about half a mile or more long. It makes it pointless to try, luckily they let boats skip ahead, but for the poor suckers who have to wait just to hang out near a lake I wouldn't bother. They'll be so many people around, lots of noise, lots of trash, too many people in the small swimming area, you'll probably hate it. Just head to a legit beach early. However all other activities during off peak season are great... Just for real, you lake and cook out people, woof dude, woof. I've never had issue, but, ergh, summer time weekends; it's like an exodus. Happy trails!

Nice place, shame it's all littered up. Next time I go, I'll be sure to bring a trash bag.

My favorite State Forest. The park area has a very nice beach with life guards in season bath house and lots of picnic tables. There are some very fun easy trails especially the cedar swamp boardwalk. Outside the park area there is a large less developed area that borders wildlife management areas. This makes the total area for hiking, biking and horseback riding about 10000 acres. Lots of different environments with a wide variety of plants and animals. There are also many interesting geological and...

It's a beautiful hike from the RT96 parking lot straight down the trail and into the outside of Wallum Lake. It's 2-miles one way hike in where the trail joins the Coffee House Loop trail. It's...
