Trails in this area are pretty slick, plus the midstate and grand trunk run straight through here. The trails are mostly good for hiking, annoying loose stones thrown up by ATV and Motorcross riders make biking a chore at times (motorized vehicles are not allowed here).
However.
Want a place to hang out at the weekend during nice weather that has a swimming spot? Don't bother coming here, I've shown up to go boating before about 45 mins before opening and I'd guess the line of cars was about half a mile or more long. It makes it pointless to try, luckily they let boats skip ahead, but for the poor suckers who have to wait just to hang out near a lake I wouldn't bother. They'll be so many people around, lots of noise, lots of trash, too many people in the small swimming area, you'll probably hate it. Just head to a legit beach early.
