We did the Stranger Things Bunker.
I would definitely agree with other reviewers and say, no more than 6 for optimal enjoyment of this room. 10 would just have been WAY to crowded. This escape takes place completely inside and the spaces are tight, but look cool.
It was a bit warm and humid. Our escape took place a 9pm on May 5. I don't know if the temperature changes in the Bunker during the earlier evening and into Summer, but it might be worth asking about. They may have ways to cool it down when it gets warmer. I don't know.
Our group did escape, but we were a group of 5-6 adults (Our numbers fluctuated due to issues I was having that had nothing to do with Escape Woods or the rooms themselves.
I really wish I could have stayed and seen all of the rooms and been part of it all playing out, but unfortunately that was not possible.
I would recommend the Bunker for adults, but not for kids, unless the clues are change and become easier if the group is younger, or they are teens and have a savvy clue finding adult or two with them.
Once you get the radio, the way the rooms/clues are set up you pretty much have to use it to know what to look for next. (It's just good to know and it's not a spoiler. They tell you you are looking for it before you go in.)
Also, we did see a couple small spiders. Not a lot, and no bigger than the tip of your finger with legs included. This is to be expected as we were in a humid, dimly lit place, in the woods, but if you knowksomeone that is crippled with fear by a single spider, you may want to leave that person at home, or pick a different experience. Be realistic though, spiders happen everywhere. (This is coming from someone who does have a decent enough phobia of them, and I was not bothered.)
The entire group really seemed to have a great time. I dropped off early on and was allowed to rejoin. The second time chose not rejoin the group, because I didn't want to disrupt the experience any more than I already had. :( Though after learning I missed some of the coolest parts, I wish I had asked to walk back through the space after the escape just to see the parts I missed.
This review is based a great deal on how much the rest of the group said they enjoyed themselves, and the things they said about the experience after.
I unfortunately, was dealing with feeling ill off and on the entire time and missed a lot. Again, that had nothing to do with the experience Escape Woods provided. It was a completely unrelated issue.
I am glad we took part in the experience. I only wish I could have been...
Read moreI am so thrilled to have been introduced to this amazing family farm this weekend! When we lived in Idaho, there was a family farmstead we loved to visit, but we havenât been able to find one that even came closeâuntil now. When you turn into the driveway, you arenât sure what to expect. You stop at the front where youâre greeted with smiling faces and given the rundown of the farm. To the right are the cutest pens and homes for the many farm animals that are sure to convince every child with you that you should own some. It is so well kept and even includes educational signs throughout. When you continue driving to the parking area, you see a nice pavilion that can be rented and beside it is the coolest zip line/ninja/outdoor climbing area for bigger kids ages 5-12. Continue driving and you see breathtaking views of all the farm has to offer. One of my favorite views was looking from the parking area towards the front of the farm and seeing the corn maze, zinnia field, pumpkin patch, farm animal area, and Christmas trees all at once. We started with the corn maze and then ventured into the area that is perfect for the ages our kids are now. There are play houses, a slide, magnetic wall for magnatiles, corn crib for kids to play in, a sand pit, carnival games, bubbles, a cow train, and so much more. Everything is very intentionalânot a detail was left out. In addition to the family fun, there are perfect photo ops throughout the farm that are sure to make family photos a breeze. The pumpkin store has so many different colors, sizes, and types to choose from and pricing was better than others I have been to. We had both boiled peanuts and bbq from some of the vendors and both were delicious. We didnât venture into escape woods but that would be great for older kids or even a date day. I cannot say enough about the experience and canât wait to go back! It is a 1 hour and 40 minute drive for us and I think it is totally worth the drive for the experience and family memories we will...
Read moreFirstly, their workers are good folks â helpful, friendly, farm-type, and concerned about everyone having a pleasant experience, starting from the moment you check in. It felt like low key and low stress. Every worker we encountered was pleasant. Country store lady, slingshot guy, tractor guys, farm-animal teenage girl, Hen LadyâŚ. There were many displays where you could take good pictures with pumpkins, large chair to sit in, old tractor to sit on, old truck, angel wingsâŚetc. There was a kidâs play area that was better than average with things to climb on; ninja slack line; little bowling alley; an artificial cow to milk; floating toy ducks down ramps; basketball hoops game; ring toss; sandbox; swing sets; etc. They had a 10âx12â corn crib barn where you could tromp around knee deep in corn kernels. Pay a buck and launch a miniature pumpkin about 60 yards with a 6â sling shot. The country store was simple and had jellies, ciders, etc. Sleepy Hollow Tree farm put a lot of creativity and effort into providing fun things for everyone to do. I cannot imagine another farm being more accommodating or having more attractions. The corn maze was awesome. It had a narrow path. The stalks started out about 4â tall, but rose to overhead as you got deeper into it. It was great fun and we did it twice. They had a couple of tractors operating, pulling wagons so you could ride to the farm animal area. Probably two dozen beautiful large and small nanny goats. Miniature horse; Jerusalem donkey; cute piglets; a few sheep; free roaming chickens; a huge turkey roaming around. Hand feeding them all was fun. Beautiful Christmas tree farm. I will also mention that I saw the folks sanitizing the play equipment multiple times. The workers wore masks, and most of the patrons did too. I saw the workers trying to maintain the play area, such as moving sand to the bare spots at the slide as needed. Sleepy Hollow Tree farm exceeded our...
