ย ย ย Read moreIt was much more than expected during our visit! We had such a great time. You pull up to the side of the building and buy your tickets there. We chose the drive through option instead of riding the wagon so that we could go at our own pace. If you do this option and have more than one car, maybe choose to take the one you like least, lol, because the animals drooled and licked our windows and doors trying to get the food. When we didn't feed the zebras, they started wagging their tails into the side of the car. The giraffe's were pretty hard to feed since you can't get out of the car so if you have a higher set vehicle, that might be easier. Also the wagon riders had no problem either. So if feeding the giraffes is something you really want to do, consider the wagon ride. Even though there were a handful of other cars and at some points you share the road with the wagons, we never felt rushed. And you can drive through again and again after you pay.
The drive through took us about 45 mins and we saw yaks, zebras, giraffes, llamas, pigs, deer and so many others! After the drive through we pulled into the parking lot and walked around the petting area. This was even more fun! We fed camels and goats and sheep! The little goats were the cutest things! There's two Amish homes to tour and a chicken coop and a pretty waterfall. Everything was very clean and taken care of. We spent about 2.5 hours total and if our little one wasn't getting tired, we would have probably stayed longer. We'd been contemplating coming here for the last couple summers and so glad we finally chose to make the drive. Seeing the variety of animals so close and getting to feed and pet them was so cool! It was...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is my 3rd visit. Really neat place! They decorate here so lovely.
Lots of things to do. Pumpkin throws, wagon ride (you can feed animals) and hay maze for kids.
Each pumpkin is $1 for pumpkin throw. I recommend getting the same size pumpkins for throwing. You need two people to pull on the slingshot to throw your pumpkin.
If you manage to knock off a pumpkin sitting on the milk can on the pond you can get a ticket for free entrance next year.
The wagon ride has grain buckets where you can feed animals such as cows, deer, goats, ostriches, giraffes and more. (Not Zebras, they bite!)
My best advice for feeding cows and bulls is to grab a handful and dump the food into their mouths. They do have large tongues and are very slobbery! (And will slobber the bucket as I found out)
There is a purell station at the end of the wagon ride. (You can use your car to drive a different path around the animals instead of the wagon ride but I don't recommend it.)
There are sometimes cats wondering around. There are lots of variety of birds in cages. There are stands with pictures that give information for the exotic animals like quick facts and where they are from.
They have outdoor toilets but up the hill in a house they have inside restrooms. In one of the houses has a free cookie sample as well. (Warning, my Dad thinks he tastes peanut butter in the cookie so be sure to ask if you have peanut allergy)
Food is available on weekends only. They have stuff like bake beans, hot dogs, chicken, etc Not much but tasty.
Lastly for covered bridge enthusiasts I believe there are two covered bridges here.
I had a wonderful time with my...
