We took a girls trip to Amish country this weekend and had a great time. We stayed at Floret Hill and it was so peaceful and a perfect getaway for a short trip (there’s even a farm next door where we could see pot bellied pigs, longhorn steer, llamas, and even giraffes!). We stayed in “the barn” and it was a great amount of space for 6 adults. Keurig and k-cups were provided which I think is always a great touch when I travel and need a caffeine pick me up before I start my days. It stormed the weekend we visited, but the unit included a fire pit with 4 chairs outside which I ended up using in the mornings to read and get fresh air. There’s also a communal fire pit a few steps away that has ~8 chairs for people to gather at as well. Even though we were in the country, we were still in close proximity to many of the things to do in the area. We did our own winery tour and visited Breitenbach, Hans place (right next to Breitenbach) Winetagous, and Silver Moon. I would highly recommend getting snacks to go with your wine at each place, the cheese up there is delicious! We also drove by the Worlds largest Cuckoo Clock in sugarcreek and visited a flea market in Berlin.
The best part was the small town charm and quick, friendly service we experienced...
Read moreThis was a new experience for us. Beautiful setting and such a clever idea. Great location and idea. It is a very small unit with queen bed against the wall. If you are taller than 6' it will be very low ceiling. Wonderful back deck with grill and I'm sure it will be beautiful in the fall because there's so many beautiful trees behind that unit. We like the fact that we could drive right up to the front door. The only thing I would recommend is to add a wall fan in the bedroom because it got a little stuffy at night. I would also recommend a small bench in front of the couch for a footstool to rest your feet on. Very nicely equipped with nice lotions and soaps and good selection of coffee. Definitely a great potential for small family or couple. Easy access to all the shopping and dining in walnut Creek and...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in one of the tiny houses with a one bedroom loft. It was super cute and had everything we needed. The washer/dryer combo was also really nice to have. The location is perfect -- out a bit so that it's very quiet and peaceful but also pretty close to all of Ohio's Amish country attractions. Also a very easy (on major roads) 30 minute drive to New Philadelphia, which has Wal-mart, Aldi, Starbucks, etc. We were so happy it snowed while there because the view of the trees right behind the tiny house was beautiful with the snow. I'll definitely remember this place and try to return another time. There is a huge deck facing the woods that I'd love to spend time on maybe in the fall or spring. And it looks like all the cottages have a nice view...
