Very nice park located south of downtown Downers Grove, lots of parking, easy access, walking trails, jogging trails it's a park not a forest preserve. This park also has tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball field which allare in constant use and the time during League Seasons you will not be able to use those amenities. This park has a lot of traffic in it so you can feel safe but if you're walking an aggressive dog nervous dog which dogs are allowed leashed not the place for you. Very well-maintained park and it does have a playground area for smaller children. Fields don't have a lot of shade but here is a lot of shade located off of the parking lot. There is a shelter but not sure if it's first come first serve or you have to rent it. This park is maintained by the Downers Grove...

Half of the time I come here this place is closed. They have very limited selection of snacks other than the fact that they have a lot of candy. The candy is overpriced of course. Three different flavors of ice cream, tons of soft drinks and only hotdogs and nachos and cheese are what is for food. That concession stand is located at the far end of the park next to the parking lot. If you are on the baseball fields it is a very long walk to get here. The bathrooms are also located in the same building and are extremely dirty. The floors are so dirty that I would not want to even step in there with my shoes on. There are no paper towels and the dryers do not work. The park itself is really good however. They have lots of tennis courts basketball courts and...

080923 Nice new tennis courts(some have pickleball lines, and that's where we end up nets are the wrong height but...) and new pickleball courts, but don't plan on getting in the pickleball courts, the leagues took over. 2hr wait from 8am-1130am In the future, there are supposed to be mobile pickleball nets that will be used on the tennis courts, but once those nets are supplied, I'm sure it will just be as crowded with league players. Opening Day Was there once at 1pm 90 degrees and did get a court, but another league showed up at 2pm with a huge crowd and trainers teaching the sport. 1 Porta potty available for use in that...

McCollum Park has been my go-to spot for years. I grew up playing DGYB here, and now I’m into pickleball, basketball, and softball. The park is always in great shape, with well-maintained fields and courts. The basketball and pickleball courts are top-notch, and the softball fields are perfect for a game with the guys. The walking trails are ideal for a run or just a walk, and there’s plenty of space to relax or have a picnic. The playground is solid for kids, and the splash pad is a great way to cool off in the summer. McCollum Park has everything you need, whether you’re looking to stay active or just unwind. Highly recommend it!
