This waterpark was the highlight of our vacation. There is a huge amount of parking. It's a walk to get in there but that was expected being that it is such a big water park. We went on a Wednesday morning in July and it was not crowded all day. We didn't have to wait more than a minute to get in as we had our tickets in advance. The park is super clean. You really must wear water shoes or at least flip flops and take them off where people put them on the sides when you're getting in the water. The ground everywhere in the park is scorching hot. I mean hot, hot. Thankfully I had someone tell me in advance but of course we had one person in our group who didn't wear them and was regretting that decision. Flip flops are okay but it's a pain to hold on to them or constantly go back to get them where as water shoes you don't have to worry about that. I think my only gripe about the park is that there is not enough shade whatsoever. There are some umbrellas throughout the park that just shade a small section of chairs which are snatched up instantly to be left sitting with towels on them all day. The private cabanas are WAY overpriced. We did not get one because we would have spent more money than actually getting into the park so we fried like the rest of the peasants while tons of open Cabanas sat there begging for patrons. I guess it wouldn't be bad if you have a larger group of adults to all go in on it.
We didn't have any of the food in the park because we are on a budget but you are allowed to leave and get your hand stamped go to your car, eat lunch and come back. You are only allowed to bring in one sealed small water bottle per person. They have the old time water fountains to refill it if you want to. (They really should spring for the newer filtered ones.)
The lazy river is huge! There are a ton of tubes and you don't have to wait. The tubes were a little hard for everyone to hold on to. They are giant and overinflated so you just kind of slide through or you have to hang on to the handles for dear life other option is to completely lay on top of them where you are not touching the water.
The water slides are scary and cool and there was nearly no wait to get on them. If you have the stamina to keep doing stairs, you can slide all day.
Our favorite was the wave pool. We spent half a day in this pool near the deep end just swimming and dodging waves. It was seriously like being at the beach. They also had cool music playing there which added to the fun.
We didn't have any younger kiddos with us but that whole area looked so cool. I would definitely recommend for younger kids.
The lockers were awesome! I just got the smallest locker for $15. They have a digital display where you can enter your credit card and then it gives you a locker number and you set your own pin. It pops it open automatically after you enter your locker number and pin on the digital display so you don't need to carry around even a locker key. And you can go back and forth as many times as you like. So everyone in our group could go to the locker without checking back in with me.
The gift shop looked cool but we didn't shop in it.
There was some thunder or lightning so they cleared the pool but we were getting ready to go out to our car to eat anyway so we ate lunch and I noticed that people were going back up the slides so we went back in for the rest of the day.
All in all, I HIGHLY recommend visiting H2OBX while in the area. Bring a ton of sunscreen and possibly a hat because you will need it especially if you don't...
Β Β Β Read moreThis is Malissa Creamer (using my moms computer so itβs on her account). I was reading reviews while booking a cabana that really upset me! We are a family of 10, 8 kids and 2 adults. We bought season passes bc they basically pay for themselves! WE LOVE H2OBX, we are local restaurant owners that come here often with our children. The rides are amazing, the food is great, the service is spectacular and the prices are GREAT! SAFEST water/ amusement park weβve ever been to! The kids slides are absolutely safe, they donβt slide into a deep pool of water, itβs up to the kids knees and perfect enough for them to stand up after sliding, not to mention thereβs a life guard at the bottom of the slide waiting to help. There is literally a life guard about every few feet! I know my kids are safe here. We go at least twice a week and rent a cabana every single time. I donβt get how people are saying theyβre too expensive? Youβre asking to rent personal space/shade with a table, chairs, couch, fan, free fruit, free cold water in the personal fridge provided, your own personal server so you donβt have to wait in line and free dessert at the end of the day! The service manager Jenn was AMAZING to work with. Our first trip to the water park for the season and I had forgotten to book ahead of time for a cabana, I have to have shade due to breast cancer and undergoing radiation. When I called that morning on our way they were almost booked up! But due to my medical condition she was able to take the time to get me booked up into the last cabana available over the phone even though she was slammed! When I got there she met my family at front and even escorted me to our cabana, AMAZING SERVICE! This woman literally deserves a raise or promotion!!! As for people complaining about the hot concrete and people suggesting they need sprinklers, if they actually paid attention they would realize that THERE ARE SPRINKLERS directed towards the concrete that spray every so often! Itβs just a very hot summer and wellβ¦ itβs concrete! I know people complain about how the passes are so expensive, theyβre really not! Youβre paying $109 for endless amount of days. You can go as much as you want all summer long from open to close! If you present your card you get discounts on day tickets for friends/family, discount on all food and discounts in the merchant store! One trip alone is almost $50 if using a basic day pass, 2 trips and your pass is paid for! I donβt know, my family and I personally think H2OBX IS AMAZING AND A GODSEND TO OUR FAMILY! And even if I did have one bad experience I wouldnβt make it my overall opinion, bc letβs be honest βcrap happensβ. This place is amazing and I think some people just want to complain sadly. And the best part? This company actually responds to their reviews, bad or good they respond. You wouldnβt hear a peep from most companies! Yβall are doing an amazing job! Canβt wait to see yβall Saturday!...
Β Β Β Read moreAbsolutely incredible experience. Hands down "what a water park should be". We had a wide range on ages - 16, 9, 6, with two adults. Everyone, and I mean everyone, had a blast.
A majority of the rides had lines but they moved quickly and we never felt like it took too long. We came when it was 91Β° and UV index was a solid 10, but there was plenty of shade. I even noticed, as a non-smoker myself, that the designated smoking area had a nice large tree in the middle for shade - impressive attention to detail.
The food was delicious. We had pizza, chicken tenders, pretzels, french fries, hot dogs, and mini-melts (dip-n-dots). Everything was hot and tasted really good, especially for water park food. The eating area was clean. I noted a woman walking around with a (very quiet) power washer; she was cleaning tables and the ground. There were seagulls staking out unsuspecting customers - blatantly ignoring the sign saying not to feed them - but the woman was on top of making sure the bird mess was at an absolute minimum.
Speaking of cleaniness - the park is spotless. Everywhere we walked they had staff cleaning something. Including the bathrooms - and I think we can ALL agree how disgusting water park bathrooms can be. Everything felt clean from the water to the ground.
The staff was wonderful. Everyone was extremely kind and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed their jobs. One of the first slides we went on the attendant playful splashed each guest as they started down - my son LOVED that. I thought it was a fun characteristic of someone who genuinely wanted to be there and make our time a good one. Another took my joking fear seriously and gave a thoughtful explanation about how the slide and gravity work to keep riders safe. It made me feel genuinely cared for.
On the safety side - my husband is in the safety field for a living, so he's more on the alert for situations that I often overlook. He witnessed three rescues for young children in the water and was overly impressed by the timeliness of each rescue and the steps that followed (reports, talking with parents, etc.). He mentioned he noticed how staffed they were; eyes were everywhere all the time.
If I had to think of literally anything on the slightly negative, I'd say the ground was HOT. I mean hot hot hot. But that is something so far out of their control. They have white concrete with sprinklers that spray water where they can - so even there they are trying to be on top of it! Just make sure you bring water shoes because on days like today, it seemed like there was no reprieve for our feet without them.
I know this is a lengthy review, but I truly couldn't be more impressed. This is truly a top-notch water park. If we lived nearby we would have season passes; but until then, we will be returning summer...
