This has quickly become one of my favorite trails in Maryland. We entered through North Point State Park, paying a $3 entry fee, and parked in Lot B to start at the Beaver Pond Trailhead. What’s great about this trail system is that the paths are interconnected, so we were able to explore four different trails, each offering unique scenery. One moment we were walking through the woods, then catching views of the bay and Bay Bridge, passing by an abandoned powerhouse, and finally reaching a scenic marsh. My dog loved this hike as much as I did. I recently got into birding, and the Black Marsh Trailhead was fantastic—I identified around eight different bird species along the way. Highly recommend this trail, and I’ll definitely be coming back...
