During the rafting season this is a take out location on the lower Animas River in Durango, CO. There are no playgrounds (the river is your playground), no bathrooms, or picnic areas. It is dog friendly if your dog likes to play in the river. You can drive down the driveway on the west side to park close by the water. On the east side there is a lovely paved walking trail with beautiful views looking down into the river. A great place to walk your dog or just enjoy a scenic stroll.

A popular place for launching and/or landing boats. Several nice picnic tables; and access to the Animas River. As other reviews mention, it gets busy because of commercial business operations using the boat launch/land areas for free, while making money off the tourists. Maybe they can pay a fee; and give back to the community, not just exploit it for profit! Other than that, it's a nice place for a little walk or to take a break.

Not really a great park. You might find one homeless somewhere in vicinity. From the parking side, there is trail way that leads down like 2 to 3 stories to river banks. There is spot where it has Bridge overpass. We took some pictures & videos. Be careful in the water surrounding the Big stones. We noticed a baby snake. We would not recommend swimming in the water at all.

This is a very basic park. It feels a little generous calling it a park, though. I use it as a trailhead for the Animas River Trail when I bike or go on a long run since it is the eastern endpoint of the 13.5 mile out & back trail (6.75 miles to the park at the other end at 32nd street). There is parking available in what amounts to an oversized figure eight, so it's parallel parking along the outer edge with easy entrance and exit. There is easy river access, and I have seen people fishing or using it to put in kayaks. There is a latrine here, but when I was there, it was especially smelly and the door latched but wouldn't lock (and bring your own hand sanitizer). There are also a few picnic tables, which because they are alongside the river, are actually pretty pleasant. It serves its purpose well as river access and trailhead, but I wouldn't go here for any other reason, such as to enjoy a pretty park; the only thing pretty about it is the...

Its the beginning, or maybe the end, of the Animas river trail - the show piece trail in the city of Durango. Dallabetta put in ( put out?) is an amazing end to your river adventures as well. Start at the 32nd Street put in and float your way almost 10 miles through the heart of Durango, ending your journey at dallabetta. An adventure that can be family friendly in low river, or an epic adventure through the Whitewater park that is world class during high flows. Tubing is only recommended when flows drop below 500...

Not a great "park," per se, right under a highway bridge and lacking amenities usually associated with parks. In fact, the pit toilets were still locked "for the season" when I was there at the end of April. However, it is a point to take watercraft out of the Animas River: small, brushy eddy; one-lane, steep, dirt ramp (you'll need 4x4, especially if you want to back a trailer down; but, wide paved loops make it easy to maneuver even large vehicles w/trailers in & out of this...
