I was admitted here by the HEART team after a failed sucide attempt, I was at my lowest. Not to mention I was currently homeless. They treated me like I was a drug addict looking for a place to crash. They seemed surprised when I told them I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder / anxiety.. and kept asking “ what do you think we can do for you” I wanted to pull out my medical records on my phone and show them soo bad.
Not to mention it took 3 nurses to draw my blood!! I’m a medical assistant and I could do it in 1 blood draw… I wanted to leave ASAP of course because I no longer had those feelings.. one of the doctors even said “ I don’t think we should admit you for just depression” when this is the main reason people kill themselves. Even requests for puzzles were denied as then they would need to be thrown out afterwards. There is no comfort here as they don’t listen to you. You need to lie to get out. I have medical trauma over this experience and will never willingly go to a...

Even the security guards were wonderful. I brought my mother here from out of state when her hometown failed to help her. It was basically a life or death situation. After about 3 or 4 weeks my mom was well enough to come home. I cant thank the entire staff enough for their kindness and their willingness to get my mom better. If you or a loved one is in need of inpatient psychiatric care, this is the place you want them to be. Signed a truly...
