Nice little park and playground area in a wooded area. Has a normal basic playground and little second playground for one-year-olds, but the rubber turf was the coolest! They actually had the NAME of the park written in the ground of the playground! Never seen that at any park before, and I’ve taken my son to 175 different playgrounds all total now. They also have some trails back in the woods and picnic tables. A fun playground for little kids…

This park is so nice since the remodel! My almost five year old has asked to go back three weekends in a row. Great climbing structures, swings, fantastic merry go round, plenty of accessibility features, and some nice musical play areas. Also, fenced in! Plenty of shade and benches for grown ups! Good job with the upgrade, DPS!

Lovely Durham City Park tucked in a residential neighborhood. The Warren Creek trail goes through Whippoorwill Park. This is a photo of part of the Jump and Run Creek that runs along the trail.

Do not go there without at least one other adult. It has a wonderful playground, especially for toddlers. However, it is ISOLATED. I took my grandchild there in the middle of the afternoon; no one else was there. About 20 minutes later, a brown sedan drove in, circled slowly several times, finally parked, and nobody got out. I felt uncomfortable, and started gathering our things to leave. Meanwhile, they started backing out and I thought/hoped they were leaving, but they just moved several spaces closer to my car. Within a minute, an SUV came in and parked in the space right smack next to the driver’s side of my car, though there were at least 20 other empty spaces. Both vehicles had dark-tinted windows, and had me between them - clearly an intimidation tactic. I was scared half to death for the safety of my grandchild (and me), especially because I had to turn my back to the SUV to get into my car and get my toddler and myself in, and drove away ASAP. No doubt whatsoever it was a drug meetup. In the residential area, I stopped to put my child in her car seat. A young male was walking towards towards the park and asked me if I was ok. I said no, there was something sketchy going on so don’t go down there. He thanked me for telling him and proceeded to walk down the hill...

An ok spot. Has clean bathrooms, tennis courts baseball field. Play equipment and ground could use some updating. There always seems to be random cars with people just hanging out in so that part is a bit shady. It's connected to the greenway which I guess is nice. It's rarely populated so with the random visitors coming and just parking, maybe taking a lunch break, I don't feel as safe as I...
