My grandmother taught me to be thankful for everything that you get. And there is something to be said for that sentiment. But having been educated in the seventies and eighties I can't help but think about idea of separate but equal. It's not that Jones Park is particularly bad or run-down or anything else. But it just does not have that finished clean look the parks in other part of Illinois that I have been to have. There's just a certain amount of neglect. It is a worthwhile place I could be so much better if the powers-that-be and the residents cared more about it.

Always love coming to this community park to walk. Sometimes with family and friends or alone. Has something for everyone to do, from playgrounds for children, to stocked fishing ponds, and exercises along the walking trail including a freshly installed "Fitness Court"!!!

We enjoyed the walk that goes along the lake and past the boathouse. It looks like an interesting historic park.

Impressed with the upkeep of the park. Was visiting the city and love walking the trail. Though, the trail could use some tending: de-weeding/grassing, daily clearing, etc. and smoothing of the trail. It is a walking path, having a smooth clear path is more of a safety concern. Especially, for our older citizens that would love a nice stroll in this...
