What an amazing afternoon. I live nearby and had no idea WotN was in my backyard. I went with a friend and didn't expect much, but there are so many incredible pieces of history housed here. There is something unbelievable about being able to touch an airplane that flew missions in WWII, or look into the cockpit of a trainer plane that a future US president would learn to fly in.
We spent 2 hours touring the museum with an amazing tour guide, Bob Koch. Bob brought the stories behind all the artifacts to life and it made for a really fun and engaging afternoon.
If you're looking for something to do I definitely recommend WotN. For some people museums can be boring, but between the incredible artifacts and the passionate people of WotN you'd be hard pressed to find anything...

Outside the gallery and on the way to the hangar you can view the Aviation Hall of Fame! Once inside the hangar and if you’re very lucky, all 5 planes will be available for tour! This is a living breathing FLYING hangar so the planes will be either static, being prepped for flight, flying or coming back in, WOW! They even have the replica Spirit of St. Louis hanging above! On top of all this there is a naval air base diorama AND private jets to look at as they share a hangar with Club Jet. Highly recommend! Lots of world war 2 related items and even a few planes(AT-6 Texan,F4U Corsair,P-51d Mustang, Tbm Avenger and a Stearman biplane WW2 trainer flown by George Bush sr! Every year around the 15th of july they also have a air expo that is Awesome... I believe the museum is donation based for entry and air expo is around 15$ I usually drop ten bucks in for the wife and I but is not mandatory or frowned upon if ya cant afford anything as this place should be enjoyed by anyone...
