Grace Church — Local services in Eden Prairie

Selecting the right church is one of the most important tasks to do. Many people rely on a "Statement of Faith" that is online, as well as noting their affiliation. In early 2015, I began attending Grace Church. Early on I noticed that the pastor has a gift for delivering a message, and the worship portion is appealing. In 2019 I began to ask about when "End Times" would be preached. In response, I was directed to a class that covered the topic. I attended the class and found that it was good. However, I did not understand why this topic was not preached on a Sunday at a regular service for everyone to hear, especially considering Grace's statement of faith "...the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, alone is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and having supreme authority in all matters of faith and life...". In the 8 years that I attended Grace Church, there has not been one Sunday that End Times was preached. Nearly 30% of the Bible relates to prophecy, but "End Times" is not preached at Grace Church. In January 2023, I got an answer to a question that I asked in April 2022 (10 months later). The answer I got was a link to sign up for a class, and an internal document (not online) that places "End Times" topic in the lowest possible category, a category that Grace Church does not defend. In fact, the topic of “Gender Roles in the Church” is defended at Grace, but "End Times" is not. Grace Church claims that they are not governed by a broader body, but someone/something is influencing what they cover, and it is missing 30%...

Pastor Ian Riley had me removed from Grace Church because I broke up with one of his wife’s friends.

She abused alcohol and had many failed relationships. When I realized all her exes were “abusive” and “narcissists” and she did nothing wrong, I ended things with her.

She was extremely bitter. Pastor Ian had me removed from Grace Church. I was approached by security of Grace Church in front of my 4 year old daughter and they told me that if I came back to Grace church we would be arrested. It’s hard to explain to a 4 year old why a church would have us arrested.

Pastor Ian Riley then sent a letter to another church suggesting I be removed from my small group through another church that I hosted in my home.

None of this was handled biblically. Nobody asked for my side. I had never met Pastor Ian, and I didn’t even go to his campus. If there was some sin, or something I had done wrong (which I sincerely doubt is the case) nobody from Grace Church told me.

My husband and I have been searching for a home church for over 11 years. Our main criteria in this process was that the church must be biblical based, children focused and supports marriage growth. We are so happy that Grace has met all our criteria and more. We love the children's programming and staff as they are great on teaching kids through many avenues. The sermons are all very applicable to life, but are still grounded in the Bible. Their are many programs and groups to be apart of so there is something for almost everyone.
