I've been coming here for about 9 years now. The only drawback is that the waves can get quite big. But there are so many fun things to do. For example, the bay is always very close. It doesn't get very deep either. The deepest point is maybe 3 or 4 feet so the average person could walk across with no issues. Took the Katama Beach Bike Route to Norton Point Landing. Beautiful ride. We did early in the morning (6:30am) on a Tuesday. No traffic. Well-maintained bike path.
