We went to the Dunes as a birthday party of 3, with high expectations, considering how pricy the food is and how nice the location and the actual restaurant is.
We waited 15 minutes to be seated, everyone was busy, which happens sometimes . As soon as we sat down, I noticed my fork had dry food on it. Our glasses were filled with water once after we sat down and that was it, never got a refill even though I drank 2 out of the 3 cups at the table and they were just sitting there empty.
When the server brought the bread out, the wire basket that it came in had butter and some dead rosemary all over the base of it, it was quite disgusting at this point. I pointed this and the fork out to the server, got them replaced and the new basket still had dry food stuck to it. For the love of god, please clean those baskets, they are disgusting !!!!!
When I picked my entree out, a daily mix of seafood, I was just informed that they’re out of it, so I just skipped mine since the other 5 options didn’t seem great.
While I was the last one still eating appetizers, and our table was not cleared yet, they just brought out the entrees and shoved them on our full table and then proceeded to actually clear the table. That’s something I would maybe expect at an IHOP, not at an “upscale” restaurant.
The food looked pretty good on the plate and that’s about it. I tasted 4 appetizers and 2 entrees. It lacked flavor and the taste was just super underwhelming for what you would expect from an “upscale” restaurant. The mushroom ragu was one of the worst pasta dishes I ever tasted to be honest, seems like the total amount of effort put into it comes out at a grand total of 0.
Overall our experience was awful and I wish we just stood up and left after the first 3 red flags that happened in the span of 20 minutes.
Some of the staff here lack the bare minimum training, and they have no idea what and how they are supposed to do. It’s a joke how a place like this can run this way. 250$...
Read moreThe Dunes at the Winnetu was exactly the kind of girls’ night we needed. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a mini escape; peaceful, beautiful, and totally relaxing. The space is stunning with that breezy, coastal vibe that just screams vacation, even if you're local.
We started with a round of cocktails (shoutout to the super talented bartender from New Jersey; we didn’t catch his name, but his drinks were incredible!) and the service from Andra was next-level. She was friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience feel so effortless.
Food? Beyond delicious. The octopus tostada was perfectly balanced, the chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the dan dan noodles hit that sweet spot of comfort and spice.
And dessert was INSANE! A bento box offering was such a fun surprise. A little something for everyone, beautifully presented, and honestly, a must-order - it had my favorites and I'm sure they change it up but this weekend we had banofee tart, churros, and pavlova and OMG.
The Dunes is a total gem, seriously - whether you’re staying at the Winnetu or just heading there for dinner, it’s a whole vibe. Can’t wait to...
Read moreThe good. We took the water taxi from edgartown. It was a really nice ride and a old fashioned fire truck was waiting for us to take us to the restaurant. Our waitress was terrific.
The okay. We asked for an outdoor table to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was first come first serve and no outdoor tables were available. We would need to wait an hour.
The bad. We checked in at 6:15 and didn't receive our entree's until 7:45. We had a 5 year old with us and it was very late until we ate. I had a 1/2 chicken which was dry and I do not recommend it. Overall the food was good but not worth prices given other...
