Loved this museum! They have a 45-minute video in a cute theater upstairs about the burning of the Shenandoah Valley in 1864. I’d never heard about this, but it was a burning of people’s barns and mills, and killing of livestock, in order to starve out the Confederate troops. The film and the entire museum is really well done, fairly and accurately showing the complex and challenging history of this time. The Edinburg Mill was spared and is one of the few surviving mills from this time!

Read moreThe museum is amazing. In a mill with the original mill walls, tools and belt drives. There were dozens of rooms each with its own theme and decor. Every inch is used in creative and educational ways. The person who wrote the descriptive plaques obviously loved their job and had a great sense of humor. ... we spent about 3 hours there ...you guessed it, reading every one of the plaques. I would recommend people stop by here and then explore the historic town...

The hand tool section really took me back to my childhood and the tools my father had that his father had made. There's a great documentary about the burning of the Shenandoah Valley.
