Went here for an early Easter dinner and was blown away not only by the food but also the atmosphere. I can’t remember her name but our server was super friendly and personable. I had the prime rib with a baked sweet potato and a side salad with buttermilk ranch dressing. I really enjoyed my food, especially the bread. There was something about the bread that made it super tasty. We also got a slice of peanut butter and chocolate pecan pie, both of which were delicious. The atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable. I was told that the dining room is inside of an old grain silo which contributes to the restaurant’s unique vibe that really adds to the experience. I would definitely go back here and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal.

We absolutely love dining at the Edinburg Mill restaurant. The food is always of the highest quality and done to perfection. The wait staff is attentive and informative. One of the things we really appreciate is that they recently stopped serving plastic straws unless requested. I did make a suggestion that they refrain from serving the tartar sauce with the crabcakes. There’s nothing that could make those crabcakes taste any better. The museum and the structure itself are also absolutely fascinating.

Run!!!! We ordered a seafood platter (shown in the picture). The catfish smellsq like stinky tofu and nostril. I asked the waitress twice, she insisted it is normal smell. Then I ate took ~5 bites, and I had diarrhea immediately after the dinner, so did my friend who took ~3 bites. So please please don’t go to this restaurant if you don’t want to get poisoned.

I gave this restaurant 1 star due to the fact it took the waitress about 10 minutes to even get our drink order. After taking our drink order within minutes we do have our beverages, we then place the order for our appetizer and our meal. The appetizer was amazing and received the appetizer in a timely manner as well. Upon ordering our meal the waitress asked how my husband wanted his chopped steak, his response was well done. The waitress then took my order, I asked for the Mill Burger, again the waitress asked how would you like that cooked, my response well done burn it if need be. Over an hour still no meal. The waitress had came around several times stating that our meal would be right out. As we are waiting the table beside us which ordered their food at least 20 minutes after we had ordered gets their meal and we still have no meal. Waitress then comes over to us "I know what you're thinking your meal is coming right up". At this point we're aggravated and my husband asked for the check, instead of bringing the check the waitress decides to bring us our meal. As I always do I cut into my burger to make sure that it is fully cooked and it was pink inside. My husband then cuts into his chopped steak and also it's pink inside. I let the waitress know that my burger was supposed to have been well done and yet it's pink inside, my husband also stated that his steak was supposed to have been well done and shows her that it is pink inside. Her response to him was you call that pink in a very rude manner. Again he asked for the check. Minutes later waitress arrives with the check and tosses it onto the table, doesn't bother to hand it to us or gently lay it on the table but tosses it instead My husband had cash in already to pay for the appetizer and our beverages and tells the waitress that we are ready to pay, very rudely the waitress says I will be back. Already frustrated at this point, we follow the waitress and asked to speak to the manager, she refuses to get the manager and even stated that we have already spoken to her which wasn't the case as the waitress was the only employee that we had spoken to. My husband tosses the check onto the floor as the waitress had tossed us the check. Needless to say the waitress starts yelling at him and tells him to leave the restaurant. The manager does finally come and my husband explains the ordeal to him, the manager was making excuses as for the waitress's actions...REALLY whatever happened to customer service and when it is ever right to be rude to...

My wife and I were celebrating our 27 yr anniversary. We like to try different places each year. This year was the Edinburg Mill restaurant. We made a reservation because it was recommended (seems to be a tactic to make it seem like they have highly sought out food and service). Just before getting there for our reservation we found out that the chefs/management were from the defunct Joes Steakhouse in Front Royal (not so good steak there). I decided to chance it.

Should have steered clear.

I had the blackened Sword fish - very dry and awful flavor. Not edible, even though I tried. My wife had a Medium Rare Sirloin - came out more on the medium side. She decided to eat it because the waitress did not come back to check midway through our meal and instead came after we were done (at least the steak - not the fish)

While they are trained to ask if they can do anything, I would have expected the chef or manager to come to the table. But not this place.

We were offered a discount on the one meal and a dessert on the house for the occasion. Peanut Butter cream pie was our selection. Poor choice as a jar of peanut butter with a chocolate covered graham cracker crust would have been the equivalent. Too heavy after a meal - should be lighter - especially something with peanut butter.

Too bad - the place is quaint.

If I had negative stars, I would provide, but zero is adequate.

The chef/management need to really evaluate what they are trying to accomplish. Is the place now open Thursday - Sunday because of poor service and food?

So here are recommendations for the chef’s:

Re-evaluate the menu. Get some honest feedback from people about how the food is prepared. Food overcooked is a big thumbs down for us. Your drink menu should include local vineyard options - theirs are at least 3 within 20 miles that are actually better than what is...

4 stars for being in my hometown!! Look up, E Mill. I went with a close friend having zero expectations meaning to say we had a great time regardless of the food and service. Worth the atmosphere and the river next to the building is a major plus. GO feed them ducks. We ordered fried tofu for an appetizer it was thinly sliced with a lot of breading. Not bad. It came with a side of pickled veggies & honey mustard. The veggies were carrots and radishes. Personally, I would've added some green beans or okra for a poppa color... ANYWAY, not two get too picky. The real issue here was the lack of knowledge coming from our server. She was kind but I don't think she knows the difference between vegan and vegetarian and if she did...well I couldn't tell. (I've been in the industry for 16 years.) They have a nice selection of vegetarian dishes. Check it out. Under the headliner it said vegan options available upon request. I requested and asked if the dairy was strictly taken out of the dish OR if there was a vegan substitution for the cream and cheese. She told me it was taken out completely w/out substitutions as the chef was vegan. Heard. I ordered the Sweet Potato Pasta with Veggies- VEGAN STYLE. It came out in a cream sauce and with cheese. She told me it always looked like this and was unhelpful with my concerns... Look. Just confirm with me this isn't about to send me to the hospital. You know? Unfortunately, I had to ask for a different dish because I had ZERO confidence this dish was vegan. For the high prices, I would hope the servers would be a little more on board. The rest of the menu is worth...
