Tilden Little Farm is a little hidden gem in Berkley that is fun for all ages. We took our kids on Saturday; my daughter was excited see the cow, brown sheep (first time seeing a brown sheep), pig, chickens, geese, ducks, goats, ram and turkey. We were unaware that we could bring celery or lettuce to feed the animals. I wish we knew prior to going there. My daughter was sad; she could not feed the goats. One of the women was sweet to give my daughter lettuce to feed. After you are done, feeding the animals you can wash off your hands in one of the many restrooms on-site. To our surprise, the farm and the parking was free. Parking here is free and can take some waiting on a busy day My son was in the stroller, it was hard pushing up the hill and going down the hill was scary. He enjoyed the bumpy ride and complained when the bumpy ride ended.
There is a small museum free education environmental museum. In addition, it is free. A fun place for everyone to enjoy. I highly recommend this for...

The farm features a variety of friendly animals, including goats, rabbits, cows, and chickens, all of which are well-cared-for and approachable. The opportunity to feed and interact with the animals was a highlight, especially for the children, who were thrilled to get up close and personal with them.
The staff at the Little Farm are knowledgeable and welcoming, always ready to share interesting facts about the animals and the farm’s history. The little red barn was built in 1955 by vocational students from the Berkeley high school.
What stood out most was the farm's commitment to education and sustainability. The informative signs and exhibits provided great insights into animal care and the importance of sustainable farming practices. It's a wonderful way to teach kids about nature and where their food comes from in an engaging and...
Read moreWe got to the little farm around 3 pm. There were only a few other people there when we arrived. The animals were all friendly and enjoyed the celery and lettuce we brought. We had 3 kids, ages 6, 2 & 1. We brought 2 bunches of celery and 2 bunches of romaine. The food went way quicker than I thought it would. I would recommend bringing more than you think you'll need, you can always eat what you don't use, or give it to another family. The kids had a blast exploring and even "chasing" the wild turkeys. It was nice that they had restrooms right at the front of the farm, and even a huge sink outside of the restrooms (even though the sink was out of order during our visit). The small play structure near the parking lot was an added bonus for the little ones. We will have to come back and check out the learning center and have a picnic in one of the large grassy areas. This is a great place to have a free/cheap day out with the kids or...
