Forest Park Church — Attraction in Elizabeth City

I grew up in church and eventually turned away from it due to many factors that I'm sure several can relate to. I absolutely love this church and its leaders for their welcoming and understanding of imperfections. Their approach is to focus on the broken with an empathic understanding of "human beings" versus molding anyone to resemble a perfection that doesn't exist. Humble and open arms to any and all. I hadn't attended church, on my own, since I was a teenager. Now in my early 30s I can finally say I found what I had been praying for...or I should say I was brought to this place for a reason. Not my cup of tea, but everyone was welcoming and friendly! Very loud rock type music with repetitive lyrics posted on the screens around the sanctuary. Probably younger people would like this church more. I prefer traditional gospel music or high church music and services. Seats are comfortable and not cramped. Plenty of parking, and they even have a coffee bar in the lobby run by a local restaurateur! Great addition to this rural area, and I'm so happy my brother and sister in law found a church...

The entire experience from the heartfelt greeting at the entrance to the praise and worship to the powerful sermon delivered by Scott was worth the trip from where I was staying in Kill Devil Hills. Their Love and Service was...
