Norman Waters Park — Attraction in Elk Grove

It was nice I use to go up there a lot when I was younger. Now that I'm older I took my 3 yr old up there this past Sunday and I was shocked. People of a variety of races were there enjoying themselves in the weather. Then out of nowhere a white family comes out there and his kids start acting racist telling their siblings not to play with those black kids or let them touch their dog. And the kids they were speaking to were 2 little black girls ages 1 and 3. I couldn't believe it who raises their kids to speak to babies like that and when I approached him about it he just Shrugged his shoulders and didn't care. So the little boy and his two little sisters left the park that's a shame you have to be that way in 2019 and I feel sorry for that man and his family because they're going to run into the wrong crowd and his kids are going to make that comment and the consequences may turn out different I asked a little boy with the two little sisters before he left did he come here a lot and he said he used to but lately there's been a lot of that racism going on up there...

My daughter likes it but they really need to do more for kids nowadays especially the Gen Z and GenAlpha.. they have programmed our kids to become addicted to technology tablets phones lab tops .. so much so that cursive is NO LONGER A REQUIRMENT(ALL THOSE YEARS AGRO ON HOW MY TERM PAPERS TURNED OUT💥🤷🏽‍♀️I NOW WRITE half half English) oops sorry off topic PARKS NEED TO BRING BACK THE MERRY GO ROUND HOW DARE U TAKE THAT OUT. It's an okay park, it's not the best. They maintain the play structures pretty well when there's funding but this is the first park they'll forget about if the funding runs dry. Parking can be tricky as there's no dedicated lot but a lot of street space that can be utilized, mostly I'd say just don't come on summer evenings because there's always someone street racing right by the park. If you play Pokemon go they have added quite a few new pokestops there and a gym. There's no public restroom, and no water fountain, but most of the people who use the park are people who live...
